Custom Home Updates

They were very punctual.  They had to take up our old floor and replace it with new one. They did a great job. Put everything back and left the rooms clean.  We have several other estimates from Custom Updates that we plan to have done in the near future.  Very pleasant guys and good workers.

Shane promptly responded to my request for an estimate.  This was not a large job, but he was more than willing to perform the work.  He provided an estimate and a time frame to perform the work.  He built a replacement window sill from scratch, replaced the old one, did excellent fill in and caulking work.  In addition he checked to make sure there were no other problems which needed to be addressed. Shane completed the work at exactly the estimate he quoted and finished earlier than the time frame he had initially said.  Shane was very professional, responsive and just a nice person.  He also provided the name of another professional for some electrical work we would like to have done.  We will certainly use the services of Custom Home Updates again and will refer friends as well.  Thanks Shane.

Shane was able to get us in within our timeframe.  The second day he was there my father-in-law passed away and we had to leave the state.  He was able to coordinate our additional transition pieces (we hadn't ordered enough) with Lumber Liquidators even though we weren't there, and we trusted him enough to let him continue the work when we were so far away.  Shane is incredibly reliable, considerate and thoughtful.  We trust him implicitly to do high quality work with integrity.

Shane Moseley began our kitchen remodel precisely as scheduled.  He has extremely strong social skills and is able to give encouragement and support to the customer at the same time he provides excellent workmanship and management of the project.  Shane is fabulous at communicating with all involved, including a very busy electrician and plumber.  I had waited over 3 decades to have the kitchen remodeled and was quite nervous about the entire project.  Shane made me feel secure about my decisions.  We now have an outstanding, efficient, & beautiful kitchen.  We still walk into the room and can't believe it's real!  Shane only works with the very best people.  Jason and Shane treat people AND their pets with respect and care.      Shane works calmly and efficiently and is able to make excellent use of the materials  He is a terrific problem solver.   Shane is a true artist and treats everyone's home and family as his own.  He understands people's economic constraints and makes suggestions and offers choices in various price categories.  Shane advertised our old cabinets on Craig's List.  Even though they were in poor condition, our old sink, cabinets, and countertops were taken away by other people to be used again, sending fewer materials to the landfill!         I can't imagine ever having anyone else work in my home other than Custom Home Updates.

Within a few hours of calling him, Shane was at my house installing the 2 strips of oak transition molding. He carefully secured the strips, and he made minor adjustments to ensure that the strips would rest flush with the floor. Shane always does wonderful work, and we are certain to call on him in the future.

The planning, punctuality, and workmanship were all top quality, and at a reasonable price.

He was able to get started pretty quickly, and although the entire project took a little longer than originally planned (2 days), this was because the materials took longer to be delivered than originally thought.  However, he was there every day, on time.

     When we contacted Custom Home Updates, we got a fast response.  From the estimate to the completion of our deck,  things were done on time.  Shane Moseley did an excellent job of keeping us informed and up to date.  He obviously cares about having happy customers.  The cost estimate was indeed the final cost.  Shane listens to his customers' desires and creates an excellent work of art.  We weren't sure of exactly what we wanted and Shane was fabulous at making suggestions and working out a few minor changes as the project progressed.  He understands that people have cost limitations and he gives his customers the best project he can for the amount they can spend.  Shane also believes in recycling materials and putting things to the best use possible.  He uses the highest quality of materials he can at the best possible cost.  Shane and his assistant, Jason, were terrific gentlemen to have working on our property.  Shane added some nice finishing touches that we would never have thought of. . . adding a bracket for a flag on a post and a solar light to highlight it!        The deck project for us was a starting point.  We need to have our kitchen remodeled.  I have been very cautious about which companies to ask for a kitchen estimate.  Now that I know Custom Home Updates is a professional business, I will gladly ask for a kitchen estimate soon.  I want the kitchen done quickly and proficiently. 

Shane Moseley from Custom Home Updates is absolutely wonderful! Shane was prompt and courteous from the very beginning stages of this project. He came out to give an estimate on the same day we called. He was easy to talk with, very professional, and quickly assessed what we needed him to do for our kitchen remodeling job. He emailed us a written estimate within a few days, and he promptly answered questions we had. He was quick to adjust the estimate to include extra things we decided we wanted him to do, and communication was always clear and timely. His estimate was fair and reasonable (we received two other estimates before meeting with Shane). His fair estimate and our positive initial impression of him (from our first meeting to communication about the estimate) were ultimately why we decided to go with Custom Home Updates, and we couldn't be happier that we did. Shane began the project three days before than the cabinets were expected to arrive in order to get demolition done and tiling finished. This allowed him to begin installing the cabinets the morning after they were delivered. Shane and Jason Wise (from Wise Home Upgrades - Jason helped him on this project) were professional, friendly, courteous, thorough, and hard-working. We cannot say enough good things about them! Their attention to detail was impeccable. When anything unexpected arose - such as mold found behind the existing kitchen cabinets - Shane offered suggestions and ultimately allowed us to decide what should be done to remedy the situation. He was never ruffled or frustrated, and always exuded a positive, forward-thinking attitude. Shane helped us with the installation of a new front door that was unplanned (it was a last-minute addition to the project). He and Jason were good-natured and incredibly adept at assessing and solving our front door situation. We are grateful for their ability and willingness to help us with an unplanned front door installation and for taking care of it quickly. The demolition of the old kitchen cabinets and flooring was done neatly and carefully, and we always felt that both Shane and Jason worked conscientiously and considerately the entire time they were here. They worked hard, yet Shane was always available to answer questions. Shane was great about letting us know the status of the work they were doing and told us what he planned on doing the following day, so we always felt that we knew where the project stood. Shane and Jason were at our home for a solid five days and we didn't get tired of them or feel that they were in the way at all. (In fact, after they finished the job my young daughter said, "Oh, I'm going to miss those guys!") The installation of the tile was exceptional - it is truly a work of art, and Shane is a remarkable tiling artist and professional. He gave us valuable guidance in the selection of the tile and grout itself, and yet we never felt that he pressured us into a decision. He was wonderful at allowing us total freedom and flexibility, not pushing us in any direction, but also giving us a great suggestions if we asked his opinion. He took his time and was careful in laying out the tile. The flow and design between the kitchen and entryway is beautiful, and the end product far exceeds our expectations! The kitchen cabinet installation was also excellent. Shane has a finely tuned attention to detail, and he and Jason both were intent on making sure even small aspects of the kitchen were done well. Shane willingly accommodated a last-minute addition that we asked him to do (installing decorative moulding at the bottom of the cabinets), and did it flawlessly. Shane and Jason finished the installation earlier than we expected, to the highest level of quality. Our entire project went seamlessly. Every facet of the job was done with precision. Over the week our respect and trust in Shane grew. Shane does good, solid, careful work and he does it with integrity. The finished kitchen is outstanding, and we have absolutely no doubt that when we have another home project that needs to be done Shane Moseley at Custom Home Updates will be the first person we will call to do the job.
