It was a tough job. My basement wall was not perfectly Plumb because of clay in the yard pushing in on the wall over many years. The job was totally acceptable and functional as required. Issues and changes were resolved per my request. A little lower rating because the finishing of the framework and header wasn't quite what I considered top notch. (I was asked if the egress framing would eventually be covered. I told them yes.) Still a good job, and I have hired them again for subsequent jobs.

They subcontracted to a local guy that initially said it would take 4 days, it took all summer, I told them not to store materials on lawn, they did, it s still bare ground. I had other customers of the company they subbed to at my house trying to take their ladder back that he borrowed, after 3 months I just wanted him out. I notified Cronkite and got NO response. If you hire this guy be prepared

    Response from Company:

I am sorry that this customer feels this way. This project was in 2017. The customer purchased May 31st of that year. He was informed in writing that the project would be started aprox. 4-6 weeks from the order date. We started towards the later part of July which was very close to the 4-6 weeks quoted and completed August 18th. The project that was contracted was for Siding and Window Trim Cover. When we completed the contract. The customer stated he wanted the soffit and fascia covered. This was not in the contract nor did the sales rep charge him for this. The customer threatened not to pay unless it was done. I caved in and did the soffit and fascia at no charge to satisfy the situation. (this was a mistake that I will not make in the future). The installation crew was on the project for only 3 weeks a far cry from 3 months or all Summer. The person that came to get the ladder from the job site was on of the crews workers not a customer. I have also learned that the customer talked the installer into some side work for gutter guards to bypass the company and our prices however, the customer is having problems with the gutter covers and that transaction. Unfortunately, that transaction was not through our company and are hands are tied in the matter. If he would have purchased the gutter guards through our company the problem would not exist.

We had Cronkhite install new plastic composite decking and aluminum rails for our old deck using the same pressure treated wood frame we had. We were very happy with it until we noticed one set of slats from the top and bottom rails was not straight, called them and they sent Tim back to check it out. He realised the top rail was swapped end for end and switched it around to correct the problem. So, we were very happy with both the basic installation and the prompt response to a problem found after completion and we're very happy with our new deck.

    Thank You

UPDATE: Cronkhite took some pictures of my deck back in August, I did not hear from them for awhile, so I texted back (Bruce) on September 10th, he stated that the company owner has given someone a work order ( he did not know who) and they will contact me & schedule the work. I have not heard from anyone. Again, I'm very disappointed in the communication between customer and contractor. ..... also I wish HomeAdvisor had capabilities to show pictures to show contractors work. I had a deck resurfaced a year ago , everything replaced except for the actual foundation. Well, I was very disappointed in the workmanship and materials and follow up . I told them about the uneven cuts and boards that were cracking, a lot of "knots", uneven cuts. They sent someone to replace one board also used putty to try to improve the look of the deck. Cosmetically , it's not a good looking deck and I am embarrassed to say that I paid approx $ 11,000. I really thought I would be getting a great deck, but what I got was a very very below average deck. I have photos to show you and feel free to text me if you want to see them, also there was no follow up from a project manager or anyone in authority. I would not recommend this company for any deck work.

I don't know about windows & siding, but don't hire them for concrete work. Contracted with them for wood deck tear out & construct 18x18 concrete patio with double step out from house May/June 2017. First pour resulted in complete tear out. Excuse was a hot load. The second pour - not a whole lot better. Terrible finish job. Dark marks, rough surface, crumbled edges, uneven, & cracked. They subcontracted out 3 guys who simply couldn't handle the job. After posting a review with pictures last summer, owner called offering an epoxy job to fix it up. When we simply asked who & how - said somebody would be contacting us. Never got a call back. Frankly don't want anyone associated with Cronkhite on my property. For what we paid for this job -criminal. I'm posting this review now on Home Advisor because now that's its summer time again - I'm disgusted & embarrassed every time I walk out on my patio.

    Response from Company:

I am sorry for the delay in this response. I have been in Michigan attending to my son's kidney surgery. I am sorry the gentleman did not contact you. He has no association with our company. The discussion with your husband was that I had researched resurfacing options that you would have for the patio. I discovered that a basic epoxy coating would cost $1500.00 so I agreed that I would cover that amount but that there are several options and finishes for a resurfacing and that you might choose. I agreed that I would cover $1500 no matter what direction you went. I told him that I would provide your information to that individual and have him reach out to you. I had no idea that he had not contacted you. If I would have received some sort of correspondence from you either phone call or email I would have known. Unfortunately, the correspondence was only given through this medium. You can use whomever you want and I am mailing a check to you for the $1500.00. I hope all goes well and God Bless.

Cronkhite did a fantastic job on our siding. We absolutely love the new transformation of our home. Our salesman Josh was fantastic. He checked with us throughout the process. We had a nice visit with Dale Cronkite at our home once the siding was complete. We had some questions for him regarding the siding. He does stand by his company and makes sure that the customer is happy. Wonderful company and wonderful people to work with.

    Response from Company:

    Thank you.

I Hired Cronkite to install insulation in my crawl space and Attic. The attic looked good. In The basement they wrapped the stringers and spray a bunch of foam spray. No insulation was placed between the floor and the ground itself, which is why I called in a professional to do. Long story short and $ 3600 later I Still have cold floors! Will now have to hire and pay another contractor to come and do the job I originally hired Cronkite to do. Definitely would not recommend them!!

    Response from Company:

Cindy we are definitely sorry that you feel that way. We have reviewed your contract and work order and found that you purchased and paid for the Attic Insulation as well as Sill Plate sealing and insulating which is done throughout the perimeter. Unfortunately, there wasn't any crawlspace ceiling insulation purchased. We will have someone from the office reach out to discuss any options we can provide.

The crew was very courteous, they got the job done, I thought the materials were a little high. Overall, they did a great job. I wont know how good the work is until my utility bill comes in. Ameren did the Home Audit for me, and that's what prompted me to get the insulation project done. The project only took a couple days to complete. The price did include blown in for my Attic and Rolled Batting in the basement
