I chose to work in this industry because I grew up in the trades and favored electrical. My further experience with helping others to solve problems while making new friends drove me to pursue my passion of electrical repair and service. Upgrade an Electrical Panel

Their pricing was very high. The technician actually did a decent job of correcting the problems but provided an inaccurate report for what was done. He also provided a totally inaccurate comprehensive report concerning checking other areas of the house, which he did not actually do. When I pointed these inaccuracies out to him and asked him why he did this, he said he was required to provide this report by the management of the company. I attempted to contact a supervisor to express my concerns, I was told he was unavailable but would call me back later in the day. I never received a call. I would not do business with them again.

Luis was very capable and friendly. He wore a mask, booties to protect interior floors, and even put a carpet under his truck to protect the driveway from any fluid leaks. I showed him the three problems I had and he was able to quickly diagnose and repair all three including the replacement of a faulty GFCI component and locating the switch that controlled the outdoor security light. Afterwards he checked the main circuit breaker panel and made a couple of corrections, tested all of the GFCI circuits in the house and checked the smoke and CO2 detectors. I will definitely contact CMC Electric the next time I need electrical repairs or installations - and I'll be sure to ask for Luis!

We hired Martin Wall of CMC Electric, LLC to install pendant lights over our kitchen island and to install a new outlet in our patio. Martin is professional, personable, timely, and thorough in every detail of his work. He made sure that the lights were positioned to our satisfaction. He is top notch and I highly recommend both CMC Electric and Martin. The CMC telephone staff are excellent to deal with by phone. CMC sends reminders by text and invoices by email. My wife and I trust CMC Electric for all of our electrical needs and highly recommend the company.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
