Friday 10/17/14 All County Paving called me today about 11:30, stating that they were running a little late, they would be on site around 12:15pm. They arrived and provided me with a recommendation to do 2 coatings of the sealer, since my driveway has not been sealed. The job was completed and I noticed a little over spray on my garage doors.Since the driveway was wet they could not get to the doors to remove the over spray, so they left me with some sealer remover. I'll be able to address the issue on Sunday. Over all the driveway looks great. **** Wed 10/8/14 Received a call from All County last night about 5:15pm. They offered their apology for not returning my calls. We reset the appointment for Friday 10/17. will update after the 17th. ************** Appointment scheduled between 10 am and 1 pm. Vendor left a voice message Sunday 10/5/14 at 6:30pm. I retrieved the message at 7:00am Monday 10/6/14, and left them a message concerning their earlier call at 7:10. At 12:45pm, I called to see where they might be again at 2:45 and at 4:45. So far I have not been contacted by the company. I have alerted Angie's List to my issue. They will be reaching out to the company to see what happened.

The first appointment was a no-show even though I had it confirmed via email. When they finally did show up, there was some disagreement about the price paid and the amount to be charged. To their credit, they stood by the original amount paid and did an outstanding job. A company less focused on customer satisfaction would have acted differently. I would not hesitate to contact them again. A+

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
