Brett Stamey and his brother are super nice guys. We moved into our home that the sellers assured us that the roof had been fixed, which it had not, we discovered thisafter we moved in and it rained. Brett has come out twice to fix this issue and I believe it is fixed now. You could not ask for a nicer person. UPDATE 10/23/2020: Brett Stamey is a super nice guy. Our roof was leaking and he came out and fixed, but after rain, it was still leaking so he came back out and did more to the roof and even ran a water hose on it for a while, and no leaks. We would use them again.

Brett was very responsive and communicated costs, estimated time of work and he delivered exactly what he said he would. Highly recommend him for a roofing project.

I hired Brett Stamey to do a rubber roof job.Great work but, but, I can't seem to get a receipt from him. I've tried multiple times and several different ways to get in touch but no reply. makes me wonder if he's not being honest about something. It's been a month and a half. What do you think?

Assured me several times at the start that he never goes above his quotes, and that I'd not have to worry about leaks anymore in the back. I made sure to stress that, as we've had intermittent leaks since the old roof was installed. I was also assured they'd R&R some places on the rest of the roof that needed fixed in the process of fixing the rear roofing on the house. I also told them there were several layers of shingles & plywood on the angled sides of the roof, and I wanted all that gone, and it repaired correctly. When they finally came, they started stripping off the roof, and once they'd removed the top layer of shingles (across the entire back side of the house). Once they'd removed it all, I was THEN told they'd need more materials, and raised the cost of the whole thing by an additional 3000$ for a whole roll of 'rolled roofing', because they though they could remove the layers of plywood and roofing and have the proper grade slope under the existing shingles. How the heck do you get a steeper slope under a shallower slope, that's just not possible. I wasn't offered any sort of discount, or refund for them not using over half the shingles they'd purchased for the job (and I wasn't left any for repairs down the road if needed either). I was told then, that the rolled roofing would make me leak free, and since the roof was off the back of the house, I had no choice but to agree. Once it was installed, I was THEN told that I'd need to reseal a section of it where it leaks due to how the rolled roofing was installed (more on that later). Once they had the rear roof completed to their satisfaction, they packed up and left, without doing any of the R&R they were supposed to do on the other parts of the house that were promised. They also took the rest of the roll of rolled roofing because they said it was defective, and they'd be returning it (I paid for the whole roll, not the section on the roof, and again, received no discounts or refunds for it). After they left I noticed they hadn't done the R&R, and they hadn't installed the rolled roofing correctly (no sealant under the metal strips, screws every 2 or 3 holes in it, not trimmed, joint between shingles and rolled roofing not done correctly among other things). I sent a text about getting the R&R stuff done since they hadn't done it, and was told at least 3 times they'd come back out and finish (once via phone on March 22nd, and twice via text on April 6th, and again on April 14th). Since the 14th, they won't answer the phone, text, or messages on here. Since they didn't do the R&R they were supposed to, we've developed leaks in that area from the damaged shingles, and now our plaster/drywall roof in our living room is starting to crack and fall from the water damage. I've had another roofer come out and look at what needs to be done, and their recommendation is to have the rolled roofing replaced and done correctly, and the stuff this company didn't repair on the other side repaired as well. It's already cost me over $9000 for less than half of a 2200 sq foot house's roof to be repaired, and it's still not done correctly. And before the owner wants to come on here and say he didn't promise any R&R, I have him recorded on our security system agreeing to it, telling me what all would be done, guaranteeing no leaks, etc. Even him telling me I was buying that whole roll of roofing, not just what was needed for the job. Since this was an insurance job, and they won't pass it for inspection, they're suggesting I get an attorney at this point.

    Response from Company:

David sorry you had a bad experience we do not ever go up on price unless our homeowner sees the need when we tore into your roof we got into a mess that you said your father-in-law caused when he built your addition we had to use EPDM rubber instead of shingle due to the low pitch on your roof if we would have used shingles it would have had the same problem and after the job was done I personally met with your insurance adjuster and they also assured you it was fixed right the leaks you are having now are on the main body of the house our reviews speak for themselves There are always a few bad apples that want something for nothing.

Buyer Beware. The owner Brett Stamey inspected a leaking roof around the chimney and deduced that counter flashing would correct the problem for $800.00. The fix did not work and I contacted Brett to inform him that we still had leaks. He came by to take a look and said he would be back in a couple of days to seal the stone. That is the last I heard from him. We worked through another, similar contracting and review site as HomeAdvisor, which sent the referral to Home Advisor. I have absolutely no trust for this business A1 Construction and Roofing.

    Response from Company:

John I personally came back three times and you would not let me in your house due to covid 19 I can not fix what I can not see leaking 800$ put brand new gutters on your house I would appreciate the whole truth not just parts that benift your poor review. If I recall correctly we agreed for you to not pay for the step or counter flashing until the leak was stopped thanks for your time and your criticism!
