"For this project I received quotes from all four contractors recommended. Manny's was the most comprehensive quote for the entire job. I met with Manny one late afternoon for final discussions and we agreed on the price and start date. When I inquired about how long it would take to complete the work, I was told "two weeks". Thought ran through my head with scenes of the "Money Pit". But Manny's crews were there every day working and in two weeks and two days, the new block wall, a garden wall, the pool re-plastering and new decking was complete and the pool was being filled. "Our Pool Plaster and tiles needed replacing. We shopped a number of pool companies. The owner and family of New Wave Pools were incredibly helpful with zero pressure selling. Their prices were very competitive. Their installation of new tiles and pebbled plaster was near perfect. They followed up, were always on time and helpful and their tradesmen were amazing. We are very pleased with the results. Was actually better than we had hoped. I highly recommend. "Alex was knowledgable, courteous and patient with our questions. How he answered our detailed questions showed that he knew a lot about what he was doing and he took the time to explain what needed to be done. We chose him over another bid because his came in lower. Our pool had multiple leaks and the rebar had been damaged. The filter was 50+ years old and needed replacing as well. Alex rebarred half of the bottom of the pool (the shallow end) where the rebar had dissolved and resurfaced it. The skimmer was replaced and the pool was retiled due to cracks. In addition, the copper pipes were removed (remember 50+ years old) and replaced with PVC and two new drain lines were installed. The filter was replaced with a larger one as Alex mentioned the previous filter was too small for our pool. Other places where the rebar was slightly exposed were injected with shotcrete and the whole pool was replastered. The process was completed in a few weeks and Alex was very easy to work with. Overall, the project went smoothly and the end result was fantastic. He is a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him."

"SBL pools replaced our pool tile, porcelain, and skimmer, and portions of the deck concrete. Owner, Sal and his team clearly communicated both the scope of the work and the phases of completion. They successfully delivered on their projected timeline. Since we live quite a distance from the property, Sal consistently documented the construction and completion of each phase for us with photos and video. When the city building code enforcement threw us a small snag and we were were unable to make the trip, Sal went for us and sorted things out with the city. After we signed the contract with Sal, we had a medical emergency that necessitated us delaying the project. Sal was both sensitive to our situation and accommodating on our timing. He even drove down to Orange County to physically show us the pool tiles. Sal and SBL do an excellent job, have business integrity, and a truly genuine human touch."

"I called a number of different companies looking to have my pool resurfaced and re-tiled. I had 4 different companies all come out to give quotes. Pretty much all of them tried to upsell me on all sorts of upgrades and were very ambiguous about the quotes they were giving me. In addition, a couple of them even told me that it was take 3-4 weeks to have the pool completed from the start of the project. I found Marshall on Home Advisor and when he came out to meet with me, he gave me a competitive price, a great timeline, and seemed to overall be someone I could trust. Turned out I was right. I had a new pool in a week from the time they started on it, and I'm really happy with the results. Unlike many contractors I've worked with in the past, Marshall did exactly what he said he would do in the time frame he said he would do it. He also threw in a few items that I wouldn't have even known to include (at no cost) to make sure the project was done right. I can't tell anyone who to go with ultimately, but I think you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't take the time to have Marshall come take a look and talk with you. This was a significant investment and I needed to go with someone my gut told me I could trust. Most of the pool companies I met with scheduled me almost a week out to come give a fancy quote, came out in their pool company logo shirts and I felt like they were trying to sell me a car. Marshall simply stopped by one day after one of his jobs, talked me through the process, answered all of my likely "pool-naive" questions, let me know what I could expect from his team, and gave me a no-nonsense/no-frills quote. It was more like talking with a family member about what I was looking for and having them educate me on the process and give me some recommendations, rather than getting a business quote. Ultimately, the choice around type of plaster and tile were all mine, but Marshall gave me all the information I needed to make a decision and then worked with me as we went back and forth in changing our minds.
