The damage was far more extensive than first thought and they also helped us with roof repairs, mold remediation, floor repair and complete revarnishing of same. "Simply put, you will NOT find a better, more honest, more helpful, more easy-to-work-with, reasonably priced contractor than John Lee and his crew at J & K Home Improvement & Restoration! We had a "complicated" set of circumstances when our home was damaged by a storm, last winter. The insurance company sent out an estimator to assess the damage and, after the company recommended J & K Home Improvement & Restoration, I was introduced to John Lee. I eventually learned that John also does estimates for a variety of insurance companies (because his company is so well regarded), and he patiently listened as I described the nuances associated with our house. During our initial consultation, he was able to clearly describe all of the steps that would be necessary and answer all of our questions. Long story short, not only was John able to address EVERY single concern and request that we had regarding the eventual repairs to the house (including roof, siding, and a window upgrade that would have cost much more if we had done it at a later time), but he spent plenty of extra time making sure that everything we had talked about was addressed to our 100% satisfaction! He was also able to persuade the insurance company to cover more complete repairs than was originally specified by the first adjuster! In addition, when we had an electrical "hiccup" associated with all the pounding on the walls, John quickly sent an expert electrician to locate and correct the problem. He absolutely could have passed those charges on to us because the failure wasn't due to any mistake on the part of his crew but, instead, he picked up the unanticipated expense himself. It was truly a pleasure to work with John! He made a difficult situation as easy to manage as possible, and we would strongly recommend J & K Home Improvement & Restoration to anyone who wants to hire a quality contractor that stands behind their work and well-earned reputation!"

"We recently inherited a home in the suburbs that we had no intention of moving into. We knew there was some mold in the basement, but decided to sell it “as is” and see what happened. After putting it on the market and receiving numerous comments from buyers about the basement, we decided to get it remediated. I have a busy work schedule and couldn’t meet them at the property for an estimate, so instead they let me email photos, measurements and a drawing of where I thought all the mold was. HUGE timesaver. We asked for a quote to remove the mold and to waterproof the whole basement to make it more attractive to buyers. The quote seemed reasonable so we scheduled work to start within a couple days, when we were planning to already be there to clean out the garage, which was SUPER convenient. The morning the work was scheduled, we realized that the house didn’t have power. I called Indoor Air Repair panicking thinking we’d have to reschedule and they said it actually wasn’t a problem because they could just bring a generator. What a relief! Their guys were really professional and stayed late to get the entire job done including waterproofing in a single day (we were convinced it would take at least two). They found way more mold than we knew was there so they took out more drywall than we expected, but they kept us in the loop the entire time so there were no surprises. They also kept air scrubbers in the basement for an extra couple days to make sure all the mold spores were gone. The basement looks and feels so much better now with all the mold gone. There’s been heavy rain out by the house several times since the work was done and the basement has stayed dry as a bone. These guys were so easy to deal with and they did a great job. If I ever have mold again, I know who to call."
