  Comment: We recently lit a fire in our fireplace. Several hours after the embers and ash were 100% extinguished, my husband closed the chimney fluke and glass cabinet doors. There was NEVER any smoke in the house, but we did NOT remove the ashes. Unfortunately, my house now has a very strong, acrid burnt odor. Despite removing all ashes, reopening the fluke, opening the windows, changing the A/C filter, running the fan, and distributing bowls of vinegar, as well as absorbent charcoal bags, the odor persist throughout the house.
