Write a ReviewScott Maley- Superior Reflections- had repaired and refinished our main wood floors in September and they looked really good. So, when he gave us the same quote as the other company that came out to look at the job, we hired him. His company was to tear out and replace the luan in the kitchen and put down prefinished hardwood and also tear out and replace the 3x6' sub floor on the entry landing and lay tile. On September 21st we gave him a $650 downpayment to buy the hardwood and he gave us a tentative date of October 15th to begin our project. After several conversations and emails, Scott finally sent someone out on a Saturday before Thanksgiving to install the hardwood. We gave the installer another amount of money. The worker was to return to finish the job after new cabinets were installed (by another company). In December we contacted Scott to let him know about some problems we were having with both the kitchen floor and the repairs he'd made to our dining room (and later we found the same problems in the three bedrooms as well). He came out and assessed the problems, promising to make things right in early January. I contacted him at that time and he was on a family vacation and wouldn't be returning for a week or so- no problem, we'd wait. We had to contact him several more times to prompt him to do something. In February he sent two workers out and they said, "no problem, we'll make things right." They said they'd be back on a specific Monday. We arranged to be home; no one came. Later that week (my husband wanted to wait because maybe they'd still come) we contacted Scott. He told my husband that we were taking food from his kids mouths by demanding repairs. Ultimately, because of the terrible work and the unreasonable length of time we had to wait for anything to be done, we requested a refund of the monies we paid for the kitchen floor. Scott made good...after several weeks... in two money orders 10 days apart. I wish I could go back and change my recommendation of his work from September for which I gave him 5 stars... If I could I would give him 3 stars on work quality, 1/2 star on customer service, and 3 for value for the money. IF you hire this company, be aware that your project will be probably done half-heartedly and will be done on an extended schedule. We hired him to do the kitchen and landing in late September. The landing was never done; the kitchen was done in late November and was never completed. Our refunds came in late March after he had most of that money for SIX MONTHS.
If you scroll back a few pages the sane customer gave me a glowing review. Don't understand this one. 97 percent of my customers are happy with my work.
Contractor was professional, timely and began and completed first phase of project as agreed v
The team was polite, clean, and finished the project quickly.
Timely, courteous, efficient, experienced workers.
I hired this company to refinish my floors after I called around and took bids. These guys happen to be the most reasonable so I went with them, but was worried I was going to have to settle for quality of their work and boy was I wrong ! These guys did an amazing job. I will be using them again in the future. When I was given a quote the company stood by it after the fact that I needed something extra to be done that cost the company $250.00 bucks extra !! This company really cares about their reputation and it shows.
Professional and efficient contact person and employees. I could not be more satisfied with the hardwood floor refinishing project.
Highly recommended.
I am thrilled with the end result. The guys were efficient, courteous and they knew their stuff. Highly recommend.
After moving into our new home with 1,300+sqft of original 89-year-old oak floors, my fiancé and I decided that they needed a complete overhaul. Home Advisor put me in touch with Scott at Superior Reflections Hardwood Flooring. Scott’s quote came in lower than the three other contractors I considered for the floors and he was prepared to start at a time that fit our schedule. I accepted the bid, and I heard from Tom, one of the employees, the next day to go over the process. Despite the distance from Rochester, Tom and his crew always arrived on time, were respectful to the house, were clear and concise about what would be done on which day and what I would expect when I checked out the work that had been done. When the floors were finished, Tom went over how to keep them in the best shape for years to come. The end result was better than I had expected, and the before and after pictures I took show a dramatic difference. My only criticisms were that there was a decent amount of residual dust in each room and in the air vents and a few raised dots of poly in places. However, I would hire Superior Reflections again and recommend them to others.
I purchased my first home and once I pulled the carpets and found the hardwoods underneath I realized I was in over my head. I searched home advisor and found Scott and Superior Reflections. I couldn't be anymore pleased with my floors. When I first uncovered them I considered re-carpeting due to the shape the floors were in. Scott was able to come back and restore the floors back to almost new. I was so impressed with Scott and his team I have already hired him again for a bedroom floor that is in bad shape. I look forward to working with Scott again.
