We had Performance our to install our beautiful roof in 2016. We were very pleased with the work, craftsmanship, and the communication of Performance. So we called Mike Miner back out to replace our windows. We were so very impressed by Mikes knowledge and patients to take time to explain any and all questions we had. Performance is very much the only company we will use to do our projects. I recommend them whole heartedly!

Install or Replace Windows

Mike Miner from Performance came to our house to talk about replacing our acorn windows with brand new ones. The information, product, and overall cost convinced us pretty quickly that upgrading our windows were a worthwhile investment, and this was a good company to complete the task. I would recommend this company!

I had Mike Miner from Performance come out to discuss a new deck extension going to our above ground pool. We discussed the job in length and Mike was super knowledgable and we came up with a plan. We decided to hire Performance to do the job. We are looking forward to having the Performance team complete our job.

Add a Sunroom or Patio Enclosure

I had Mike Miner from Performance come out last year to discuss a new deck and to replace my slider with French Doors. He was knowledgeable and honest about the work that needed to be done. We were not ready to start the project yet, but Mike gave me his card. Now, we are ready to get the work done and the only one I would think of calling was Mike. He came out and we sat down and discuss in detail the project and what we wanted. Mike is excellent at his work and knows the products. We hired him and the Performance Company today.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
