They were hired for a full pack and move of a 2 story 3 bedroom house from Illinois to Alabama. They showed up late and understaffed. I ended up helping extensivly to get the job done. There was no applogy or discount offered eventhough I did a lot of work. They showed up late and understaffed again in Alabama. I had a number of items missing from the delivery and a lot of property damaged while it was in their possesion. 100 year old dinning set never covered and delivered with every signle piece damaged. $16,000 bedroom set with pieces missing and every piece delivered damaged. 8 weeks after the fact they, quit communicating with me.

I already wrote a review once and it was deleted Do not hire this company if you treasure your precious cargo There is a lot of the story but let me tell you it was a big disappointment I heard a moving company so that I wouldnt have to do any hard work and they sent my things up in a 18 wheeler they couldnt fit in the parking lot. Therefore I was charged extra because he had to park in the street and then I was told that I had to help him because they sent him all by himself. I like I said I hired somebody so I wouldnt have to do the heavy work. Im going to be 65 years old and I just cant do it anymore. So thats the first part the second part of the story is a lot of my things were missing some treasures that were my mother?s since she passed away, and I had some damage and they went through my boxes and I know this because I used clear tape to pack my boxes. They went through my boxes and ransacked them, and then proceeded to sloppily tape the boxes back together.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
