Find Moving Services - Moving Out-of-State

TLDR: Extortion, broken items, late delivery, used a secondary company, smoking in truck, No active DOT license. On 2/9/2025, we received an estimate from PFM for $5573.20, covering 738 cf. and 5166 lbs, including a partial pack, for a move date of 2/18-2/19/2025. PFM neglected to take a proper inventory of the premises, and in fact, the moving company showed up a full 24 hours before we were told to be ready. After the movers showed up, PFM called us - twice - in order to do an inventory ahead of our move the next day, which should be reflected in PFM own recorded lines. The early, unexpected arrival of the movers resulted in a higher volume of items to be packed, furniture that was not disassembled, and the breakage of various items due to your movers rushed attempts to get it all loaded. Furthermore, after all of our furniture had been loaded, after PFM listed business hours, the movers coerced me to sign a new estimate AT 8PM. AFTER IT WAS IN THE TRUCK. It was now $9,400

I recently hired this moving crew Slava and Joe to help with my relocation, and I couldn’t be happier with their service. They arrived right on time, packed everything with care, and made sure all my belongings were secure in the truck. The team was professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. I was especially impressed by how well they handled fragile items and bulky furniture. They worked quickly but didn’t cut corners. Moving can be stressful, but they made it so much easier. Roman and his team were incredible! I am moving my mother who has Alzheimer’s from Dallas to San Diego and they were so patience with her. WARNING: SCAM COMPANY ? DO NOT USE. Perfectly Fast Moving quoted me $4K for a full-service move from CA to MO. Final cost? $12K. They lied about fixed pricing, gave 48-hour notice on move dates, lowballed the space needed, and pressured me to sign a blank contract that literally said ?DO NOT SIGN UNLESS FILLED OUT.? Packing was rushed and unprofessional ? boxes weren?t labeled, no inventory, they forgot entire shelves. They promised no charge for a second stop, then added thousands last minute. Once your stuff is on their truck, you're trapped. They charged $10 per stair, inflated fees every step, and held our belongings hostage until we paid. Classic bait-and-switch. Shady, dishonest, and predatory. Avoid this company at all costs.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
