"When my houses boiler suddenly stopped working on a cold NYC winter night, Sal/Advanced Contractors contacted me within minutes of requesting a call-back from various experts via a hub website. He quickly assessed the problem on the phone, asked for my address, said that the visit might be free if no issue was found, and then gave me a 30 minute ETA (for 8:30pm). He arrived and called me at 8:29pm. Sal immediately got to work, and began triaging the problem methodically, first trying the most common solution to my boiler's pilot light issue. Although the boiler started right away, Sal would not leave until the boiler shut off (upon reaching the set temperature) and then started again on its own. Unfortunately, the first approach was not the fix here. So Sal tried a more complicated fix (because of the design of my older Pennco boiler), requiring him to get flat on his back and really wiggle his way into the very small work area to replace a part of my boiler's pilot. Sal turned the boiler back on, and again waited until the boiler shut off on its own, and then the pilot light stayed on on its own and then turned back on on its own. This time it worked! A house full of cold children and worried adults got its heat back within 90 minutes of first hearing from Sal, who happened to be nearby. While Sal was waiting to make sure his fix actually worked, he reviewed my boiler, pointing out things that I needed to stay on top of to make sure my boiler continues working. It was like a master class in boiler maintenance for me as a layperson. After I specifically asked him, Sal gave me some honest advice about the possible future of my aging boiler, both the short term and the longer term. You could sense that Sal was speaking to us as if we were family, and that this professional did not mind sharing his 40+ years of experience with brand new fans. Sal was efficient, communicated everything going on, predicted what would be happening, and why the boiler probably shut down to begin with. He was not pushy at all and did not mention the cost for his help once until I asked at the end of the job. Anytime you have to call for an emergency repair such as the one we needed for the boiler, you immediately expect a long, expensive, and even suspect night if the person you contact happens to be a bit shady. Sal/Advanced Contractors was the complete opposite. The experience was fast, cost far less than I thought it might be, and provided a solution and information that made me more knowledgeable while making sure my family would sleep in a warm house. I can't say enough great things about Sal and his last-minute, late night work on my boiler. Because Sal was available, nearby, extremely knowledgeable, prepared with supplies and solutions, and a consummate professional, my family has heat again and we now know how to take better care of our boiler until we must replace it. You will not regret using Sal/Advanced Contractors for whatever needs you may have that he can help with! And guess what?!?! He called me the next morning just to make sure my boiler was still working. Like, who does that anymore?!?! Sal does, that is who!"

"It is imperative that everyone knows about Mathew and the kind, charming man he is. I got to know him because our boiler took its last breath on Monday December 2, 2019. My husband was looking to hire someone to replace our boiler he came across Mattie through HomeAdvisor, he accepted the call and asked me to speak to him. We instantly connected, exchanged a couple of laughs and asked if he could come to look at our boiler later that evening. I wanted that boiler fixed like yesterday and that is exactly what Matt delivered. Friday, December 6, 2019 6:45 a.m. sharp Matt and his crew were outside my home. His team worked like a well oiled machine and before I could say **Bada Bing Bada Boom** I had a beautiful boiler and a hot water heater installed. I cannot praise enough the efficiency of his team. Since we clicked so well it was only natural that I take my chance and ask him to fix something extra! But to my delightful surprise, he went above and beyond my expectations... money very well spent. He changed the majority of my radiator valves in my home without any charges and, let me tell you, it made all the difference. We used to have to put the heat to 77 to get decent heat on the second floor but now we do not need to go above 72. Not to mention one of the bedrooms did not even get heat previous to Matt fixing the valves. One other **on the house** jobs he did for me before he left was relocating the thermostat which also made all the difference as the previous boiler guy I had work done by screwed it up and set it up in the absolute wrong place. I know I probably should not have mention all these things he did for me because, but he just is a stand up guy and I feel obliged to as it shows the absolute sweetheart and kind-hearted human he is. It is hard to find people where its not all about the money but rather the quality of relationships we make when we meet one another. Integrity is choosing your thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain. It is safe to say I highly recommend Matt and his crew from On Time Piping and Heating LTD. You will not be disappointed. P.S. I waited to post the review because I wanted to see how smoothly the boiler was going to run. I know I wrote an essay but it is a well deserved review. Thank You!"

Details: When in the first hour or two Egli Plumbing saw a problem with the new replacement heater they'd brought with (apparently this is very rare), they spent the time to get another new replacement heater the same day (Sunday), then got it installed and tested, also the same day.
