"When Tod (Boyd Services) came out to give us an estimate about the possibility of replacing our A/C ducts and balancing our system, he listened to our concerns and looked over everything thoroughly. Afterwards, he sat down and explained to us that he recommended a good duct cleaning and to make repairs to those ducts that needed it versus replacing them... a real cost saver. He gave us many options to choose from and explained each in great detail including the price. After reviewing his proposal versus his competitors, we chose his. While another company had investigated for multiple visits and finally recommended replacing the entire furnace unit, Punbar spent one visit (about three hours) diagnosing and arrived at the same conclusion as to the underlying issue; however, they recommended replacing only one part, not the entire unit. We followed their recommendation and it has fixed the problem (it's been a week now and the problem of no heat has not recurred). Punbar's repair took less time and cost 25% as much as the other recommendation. In addition, when the manufacturer did not have the part available in stock (after saying that they did have it), Punbar on their own initiative gave us a portable electric heater to use while we waited for the part to arrive.
