Their carpenters are true artists
SBC did great hardscape work for our neighbors, so we called them when it was time for us to have some work done. They responded quickly and provided a quote to replace a failing retaining wall and gave us options to rehab 2 patio areas full of rotting boards. As part of the work on the retaining wall, it became evident that our porch was a safety hazard and needed to be replaced. SBC immediately shored up the porch, and Steve worked with us to re-do the designs and reallocate materials to rebuild our porch, rehab the patios and keep the costs reasonable, including going the extra mile to get certified so that we could maintain the warrant on our roof. We now have a wonderful, maintenance-free outdoor space. We have a number of other outside projects, and SBC will be our first call.
SBC did a fantastic job on our replacement retaining wall in Oct-Nov 2022! The job was done on schedule and within the budget agreed to. The yard looks great and we're more confident our hillside isn't washing away. We're already working with them on two new projects. Thank you!
SBC REVIEW 2022 The hardscape was installed in 2019. From the onset, there were problems with SBC and its staff: problems with not following design (it is supposed to be a semi-circle- it was more of a point or an arrow) stairs that had to be rebuilt three times, wrong color posts, failed to insert the post sleeve-skirts, cap stones were not glued, plants were not properly spaced, major damage to my driveway, damage to my solar lights, dumping construction waste on my neighbors property, and a sales rep who would not return my calls. The facade of the hardscape developed a major crack months after being built, and again in 2022 (twice within 3 years). SBC designed the hardscape so that all rainwater would be flowing to the front of the retaining wall, causing structural damage to the wall. The owner of SBC, Brad, was aware of the flaw and tried to correct this flaw by installing a drain in front of the wall, but the wall continues to crack. The drain should have been installed in the center of the hardscape, alleviating pressure on the front retaining wall, and the 4 foot retaining wall should have been built with interlocking patio blocks. This major project came with a 60-month warranty. However, because SBC wants to skirt its responsibilities, the owner no longer wants to make repairs, and NOW states there was only a 36 month warranty. This hardscape project cost over 30K, and in return, I received sub-par workmanship, poor quality, unprofessional conduct, unethical business practices, and a patio that continues to crack. Photo documentation and correspondence available upon request.
Mr. Duncan is clearly outside of any warranty terms and is forcefully demanding SBC remedy work from 2019. All issues listed above from 2019 were improved to exceed Mr. Duncans satisfaction and they were done so immediately upon request, back in 2019. :) Regardless of the fact that SBC has no legal obligation to Mr. Duncan, we have continued to work with Mr. Duncan and offered a reasonable solution in 2022.
SBC Outdoor Services is the best deck contractor I have ever come across. After the harsh winters, our deck was quite damaged. For a long period of time we were looking to remodel the deck area completely and this time around we couldnà ¢à  à  t deny it anymore. We had a particular design idea in our minds for the new deck. The experts at SBC Outdoor Services listened to all our requirements patiently. The team then suggested the right material, estimates and the timeframe for the completion of the project. And I must say they did a mind blowing job. We really appreciate the team.
I had a concrete steps and stone wall project last September/October 2021. It involved a massive amount of work to remove existing steps, landings and sidewalk and then put everything back together. They did the work in the way it should be properly done. This project also needed drainage systems installed to take the water from my front gutter and front landing and another to take water coming from backyard in rainstorms to the drainage ditch along the road. This project was more work than I ever imagined! They worked well and hard to accomplish this one-of-a-kind task ( my house is approximately 200 years old, stone and built into the side of a hill). Proper drainage is paramount because my kitchen, living room and utility room are 8 feet underground then the very front of the house opens to front patio and sidewalk, Their consultant, Joe Milano is great to work with as are the crews and especially the owner of SBC! I will never use anyone else but SBC for all my future projects. In my opinion they are the best because the owner hires great people and he is involved with every project as is his Outdoor Design Consultant.
The SBC team did a great job on our 16'x16' paver patio with a sitting wall. We were referred to SBC by a friend who was pleased with their work. Wendy called me right back and got me in touch with Al, who promptly provided me with a quote. Al quickly followed up with an adjusted quote after we decided to change-up the design. Pedro and his on-site team were awesome...they built a beautiful patio! And we even had Brad (the owner) come out to make a few minor adjustments in a section that was closest to our house. Their price was fair and the entire team was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. We'll definitely use SBC for future projects and will be recommending them to friends and family.
SBC scheduled with us right away to get us an estimate. I like that they could handle the hardscape and the transplanting of our mature azalea bush. We were originally told it could take 6 weeks to get scheduled but they fit us in early after a cancellation. They were done in 2 days, and the patio looks amazing. The job included replacing an existing patio and stone steps, and adding a sitting wall. Would work with them again!
We recently had a major patio project completed by SBC Outdoor Services and could not be happier about the quality of their work. It involved installing approximately 1,500 sf of porcelain tiles on the Alliance Gator Base System, plus large hill-side steps, drainage system and lighting package on the front and back yard. Brad Crist, the owner, has assembled a great team that diligently worked on our project until its completion. While every job of this size is expected to encounter some challenges along the way, the SBC team was very easy to work with in addressing all the items to our satisfaction. Despite being very busy with numerous projects, Brad himself took a very active role in managing our job. It is refreshing to see the owner being so closely involved and even available to talk in the evenings and weekends. We would also highlight SBC having an in-house designer that will not only help you create new space, but will actually create a set of computerized plans for the project team to follow. The end product was an incredible addition to our home, and it already became our favorite space for outdoor use. If you are looking for a mid to large size outdoor project, consider giving SBC a shot. You wonâ t be disappointed!
