We've have a continuing issue with a small water leak that showed up as a water mark on the ceiling. Then on this past storm, water started leaking from a heater vent outlet in the ceiling of our master bath. That Sunday morning I went on HomeAdvisor.com and searched for a roof repairer. 3 names came up and HomeAdvisor sent all 3 my contact information. P J Fitzpatrick contacted me within minutes. We sent up a time for their Tech to see the roof. He did his inspection and said he could put Tarp on the roof ( rain was coming ) until P J Fitzpatrick could come out and inspect the roof. COST: $650.00 + TAX. Now I'm thinking that's allot of money, but it's gonna rain and I'll have more damage. He advises me I'll get a credit of $500.00 if we go with them for the roof. Reluctantly I allow him to do the job and I sign an agreement. The next day P J Fitzpatrick is calling me to set up the appointment and is insisting my wife be there for the meeting. I explain she will not be available till Thursday ( It's Monday now ) but they insist. After hanging up I decide to call another roofer and get a Quote. A local guy comes by and does an inspection and gives me a price. Thursday comes and P J Fitzpatrick stops and does an inspection and gives me a quote. My wife mentions the high price for putting the Tarp on the roof and he agrees and offers to deduct the whole cost of $675.00. The P J Fitzpatrick price is TWICE + what the local Roofer quoted so it's a "no-brainier" to go with them. As I still reeling over the $650.00 cost for putting the Tarp on, took less than 1 hour, I decide to dispute it on my charge (Capital One Card ) and log on and start the process. Capital One sees that I'm disputing PART of the charge for a reason that signals them to have me call their 800 # to discuss. I explain I think the $650.00 charge for 1 hour work is excessive. The Representative asks if he can contact P J Fitzpatrick immediately via phone and if necessary have a 3 way conversation, of course I agree. Soon all 3 of us are talking and it becomes obvious P J Fitzpatrick isn't going to budge, which pushes me harder to get some kind of relief. While I never got to talk to the Manager, his representative was extremely arrogant almost yelling at me. We went back and forth and they finally offered $100.00 credit. At this point I'm exhausted and stressed and agree. P J Fitzpatrick hangs up and the Capital One REP is still on the phone, he said he had never experienced a conversation like that. So beware of what you agree to, even under duress, it will cost you BIG time....
no pressure, very happy with the outcome.
I was well satisfied with the work.
On time even in the rain
He arrived for the estimate but was ready to do the repair. He gave me options without pressure. After a LOT of heavy rain the past few days not a drop of water from the repaired roof section
