Recently I called blue dot for a service call where my A/C stopped working. Technician came out a couple days later and said that the condenser fan motor needed to be replaced due to being frozen up and it had a bad capacitor. He quoted repairs costing $2636.00 to replace the fan motor and capacitor and said that they had to be special ordered for that unit. He said that he recommended that the unit be replaced and he could have someone come out this evening to talk to us. I questioned his offering to have someone come out that quick since it was around 7 PM presently. He said that he could have it done. I agreed and someone did come out around 8:30 to 8:45 pm to talk to us about a new system. Prior to him coming out I researched the cost of a new capacitor and fan motor and found that the exact capacitor that was in the unit costs $15.06 and the exact fan motor costs around $150.00. When the salesman arrived I explained to him the repair costs quoted were extremely inflated and that the parts that the repair person said I needed cost less than $175.00. He continued and quoted prices for 5 different new units offering no literature just final costs. Later that evening I ordered a new capacitor and when it arrived the next day I replaced it myself and low and behold the system worked fine. There was nothing wrong with the condenser fan motor. Total cost to repair was $15.06. I then had another company come out after I replaced the capacitor to check the system and he said that there was nothing wrong with the fan motor and that I fixed the system with the replacement capacitor. I personally believe that Blue Dot was trying to scam me into paying for a new unit when there was nothing wrong that a $15.06 part wouldn't fix. I find it really odd that the technician would quote such a high cost for the repair and just happen to have a salesperson he called direct from his cell phone and arraigned a meeting within an hour and a half of his visit. If I could give this a 0 rating I would. I feel really betrayed by Blue Dot and will never do business with them again.

Blue dot engaged in price gauging and high pressure sales tactics. They installed my system 10 years ago and were reasonable then. Why changed? Can no longer trust them. They are geared towards replacement and price gauging now. Literally 3x+ what a reasonable rate would be. Blue dot has lost all integrity and my business!

Untrustworthy - BEWARE! Blue Dot replaced all three of my A/C systems over the past 8 years and we had used them for over $30,000 worth of installation. When I had them come out on April 30, 2024 due to no cooling with one of these units, they first replaced a capacitor, then indicated that we needed a new compressor that would cost over $4,000 to replace. Hours later their salesman called to sell us a new condensing unit costly much more. We then had a second service company come out that same day and after 30 minutes and replacement of a $120 capacitor, the system was fixed and has been running without issue for days. We were also informed by the second company that our compressor was still under warranty, which BlueDot conveniently failed to mention - they simply wanted a big sale! When I called for a service call refund under the BlueDot "exceptional service guarantee," I was denied.

Andrew , the technician, did a thorough analysis of the AC system & answered all my questions about his varied detailed tests. Andrew was great. Blue Dot also fit me in on a day that was high heat ~ 90 deg. and had other emergency calls that superseded mine. Blue Dot did well !
