How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because as a Fighter Jet mechanic in the United States military, I gained a strong passion for supporting missions that would protect and serve our country's citizens. I learned three essential core values in the Air Force that represent my work ethic and how I give back to those in need. Integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all I do. I would continue to model these values throughout my military career and plan to serve my fellow citizens in my community. After my enlistment, I spent the next 14 years studying electrical theory and obtaining my Master Electrician's license, gaining a wealth of knowledge working hands-on in the electric industry. Understanding the importance of electricity in our day-to-day lives, I felt a strong passion for providing electrical services to families in need. I decided to establish my own company, A+ Electric, as a Veteran-Owned company..

We started in this industry in 2007.

This has been an incredibly professional and easy contracting job, and I can say it is due to A+ Electricâ s staff and technicians. They have ALL been truly magnificent. The name of their organization certainly speaks true. They ARE A+!! Furthermore, their pricing is incredibly reasonable. Like Dennis, the owner and technician, says on their website, â We don't want to be your one-time electrician; we want to be your life-time electrician,â they have me for sure.

Dennis and Saul were very professional and were punctual. Candice was very good at following up and also was in touch until the project was completed. I would recommend this company to anyone for electrical work, especially installing EV chargers/outlets for EV.

Top notch service with industry best prices. What else can you ask for? Dennis and Saul are true professionals. They installed a level 2 charger, 4 recessed lights, and wired 6 rooms for fans. All in less than 2 days. They kept our house super clean and did not make any huge holes in the wall which made the drywall repair really easy. So true professionals AND icing on the cake was the price!

The entire team at A+ Electric was fantastic to work with. I had a level 2 EV charger installed. They were very responsive, kept me informed and provided sound advice for the projects I had them complete. Definitely will use them in the future for my electrical projects.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
