Sue and Rick listened to our ideas and implemented a design to fit. From the very first meeting, we felt we found the right match for the job and they certainly did not disappoint. Professional, dedicated, hard working, focused, engaged are some of the character traits that come to mind that best describes their work and effort. The build *team* was prompt, professional, courteous and hard-working. They stayed focused on task and cleaned up each day. They put in an honest days work each day and knew the work. The end product was certainly worth the added wait and delays due to rainy days and weeks. The proof is in the details and we look forward to using RA Building and Design in the future. Everyone is amazed at the finished work product and we love our new rebuilt and designed deck.

Rick and Sue were great to work with. They kept us informed to time tables and any issues. Their work crew was great. The craftsmanship is excellent. The builders were friendly and very respectful and polite. They kept the yard clean and made sure the gates were closed so I didn't have to worry about my dogs after they left for the day. I will definitely be calling them for my neck project.

Excellent Experience, Hoping to Partner Again on Additional Projects Have you ever felt truly blessed to work with someone? How about a group? This is the first time I have felt this way in working with Sue, Rick, and the crew that just finished our deck. A Building and Design were excellent from first meeting and design through execution of a deck that we have been saving for several years to have built! The result? Nothing short of amazing. Sue and Rick developed a plan based on what we wanted to accomplish. One thing that impressed me the most was their willingness to review the initial design and allowing us to collaborate and co-create the final product. They helped us feel like a part of the team! The result was an amazing deck that completely changes the look and feel of our home while also adding tremendous value. We went from a builders-grade deck that was so small, you could barely get a chair and a small table on it. The old deck also blocked the view of our back yard. Compare that to the much larger deck that fits the home and that allows us to enjoy spending time outside. The design also enables us to have an entirely new space to use below the deck that is clear and open, providing a clear view of the large back yard. We are already in the process of scoping out several other projects with RA Design. We are so excited about the collaboration and making our home a place we can truly appreciate. Finally, as other reviews state, you WILL have to wait because of the demand for their services along with the quality of the work. Do not fret because you WILL be amazed at the results and you will be blessed by working with people who are incredible people and master builders.

Did an excellent job. Pleased with the work. Since they are so good there was a waiting list, but it was worth it.

They are very professional. Crew showed up on time. Cleaned up their mess on a daily basis. I will be hiring them again for another project. I would recommend them. If able to, I would give them a 10 star rating score! Have also already recommended them to someone as well.

03/15/2019 I contacted RA regarding the poor quality of their work on a fence installation.As per normal, Sue was full of excuses and explanations as to why the damage resulting from their poor quality of work and materials was not their fault or their responsibility. What are they good at? Cashing checks we as customers give them for their work. What are they horrible at? Everything else related to their business. Upgrade: 03/14/2019 upgrade: Rick and his team installed a fence surrounding our backyard 4.5 years ago. Per the contract, the footers for each post were to be below finish grade. During a recent wind event a large section of the fence blew over. Upon inspection, the footers were or less below grade. Their work was very shoddy and they do not deserve to be hired. 03/14/2019 Upgrade: We hired RA design to build a new deck just over 4 years ago. Rick did a good job scoping the project and completing on time. However, he and his team failed to install a quick disconnect electrical box as contracted for our hot tub. He said that having the breaker at the box was sufficient. However, after some time we had to have our hot tub serviced. That contractor would not work on the unit because there was not a quick disconnect box at the spa location, as required per code. We did not know this for over 3 years. The result, each time we used the hot tub we were at great risk for a deadly electrical shock Upon contact Rick he reviewed the job and sure enough said, wow, we did that correctly He did agree to pay the cost of installing the correct electrical quick disconnect. However, being a certified electrician he should have known this from the start. There but by divine grace was someone not injured or worse due to electrical shock.

Sue and Rick are unbelievable people. They are kind and caring and honestly want you to be happy with the final product. We have been in communication with RA Building & Design for nearly 2 years before finally having saved enough to move forward with the build. Never did they pressure us to sign anything and were completely understanding of our situation (relocation followed shortly by a pregnancy) and knew money was a concern. They worked with us to build an amazing deck we were happy with and fit in our budget. They even suggested a baby gate for the steps, something we hadn't initially considered. I would absolutely, 100% recommend RA Building & Design to every single person who asks who built our amazing deck!

RA Building and Design is the most professional, communicative, friendly, talented construction company I've ever hired. They were there early every morning. The foreman and workers were all extremely polite, dropping everything to shake hands and greet us when we checked up on the progress. Sue, who manages the company, kept great communication throughout the process. Rick, the designer and head workman, is incredibly talented and detailed. You won't regret hiring them!

Very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Deck/ screened in porch was a difficult construction project, high off the ground and mounted on a hill. They pulled it off at a very reasonable price. Structurally, the project was excellent. Some of the outside screened in porch trim materials were poor quality, but are easily replaceable. Overall the value and structure was excellent and I expect the deck/screened in porch to last for a long time. I will definitely use again, but make sure you specify any desired/ external trim materials or you might get disjointed/mismatched fencing pieces on the outside of your porch trim.

RA BUILDING and DESIGN, or Rick and Sue as I’ve come to think of them, did a great job designing and building my pool deck, back deck, pergola and installing a new patio door from my walkout basement. They removed a window and replaced the siding and even repainted the interior walls where the door was replaced. They made my vision of my space a reality. They arrived when they said they would, and kept me informed about what to expect. They were very gracious about some of my ‘last minute’ changes. I trusted them completely around my home and have absolutely no reservations in recommending them to anyone for their home projects.
