Mark was the complete professional. He installed TV cable drops in 4 rooms and installed wiring for a ceiling fan.Arrived on time and completed the work quickly and did a great clean-up afterwards.

The real problem was the difficulty of getting a response from them. The whole thing took about 11 days, which seems way too much for a simple fixture repair. I was told on Monday the guy would come Tuesday, calling first. Neither happened. Then we had the terrible ice storm, which knocked out power apparently to the business for days. I understand that delay; what I never understood was the non-appearance on Tuesday. I know things can come up so an appointment must be broken, but this was before any weather problems, and in any case should not have prevented a simple phone call.

i am surprised to see this review for we gave this customer within hours response and the project was to repair an old light fixture which takes time to get parts and rewire never gave time limit when would have done they asked to fix so would not have to buy two new lights to match and yes weather was a problem to get light back and installed taking care of my family with no electric is more important then installing this light fixture at that time two snow storms in a row and no electric cant keep everyone happy but everyone has to work together

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
