I chose to work in this industry because Garage doors have been a part of my life from the very beginning. My father, two uncles, two brothers, and seven cousins are all in the garage door industry, so I quite literally grew up around it. Being surrounded by the trade my entire life gave me a deep understanding of the work and a passion for helping homeowners with reliable, honest garage door service. All they did was sell me an over priced garage door opener.

Repair a Garage Door

Local Garage Door was at my door within an hour after I connected with them through Home Advisor. Blaine explained the problem, and that he had all the tools and equipment with him to repair the broken springs. He was fast and efficient.

Repair a Garage Door

They sent a guy that did the job improperly and then he came back out the same day because the door wouldn't stay closed. He told me I needed a new opener-wrong. I paid $355.90 for the job. I just had to pay another company $175.00 to undo the job and do it correctly. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I was very impressed with the quick and professional installation of two new garage door openers plus a new spring. He had everything needed on his truck so there was no need for an additional appointment. I really appreciate the good work done on this job!

Initial estimate was to replace the garage doors opener motor which I approved. upon actually getting into the system, the tech Said he found a broken piece and didn't need to replace the whole motor. I paid less than half of the initial estimate.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
