We are Jose Tech Inspection Services and have been doing both home and Business inspection for the last 8 years in the West Sound area of Washington. We do mold, Lead and have recently started a new service with looking for indoor Volatile Organic Compounds, gasoline, paint, and other indoor compounds that may be causing you breathing issues. We also use thermography as a help to find different issues in your home such as water you cannot see or an insulation problems that may be causing condensation. I chose to work in this industry because my wife was diagnosed with asthma and I realized how many people were suffering from poor indoor air quality..

I love working in Kitsap county and surrounding areas because We live in a great area of the country with the mountains and water close to where we live. Mild climate and great people..

The business has my $350 however I do not have email or written reports after 5 Business days. I never thought nor seen evidence of mold at my house. Really concerned about air quality and documentation that my house is not making me or my cancer sick mother ill. I wanted a third party to confirm that my house is safe so my kid s mother would have zero excuse for me to see my kids at my house. Concerned father!

Response from Company:

I do my assessments and explain what I found. I do not sugar coat the lab report or tell people what they want to hear. In this case, I did not find much mold, so that is what I reported. The client did not call or email when he did not receive the report that was sent when promised, it was in his spam folder. I guess that is my fault.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
