HC Structural Engineering

Not the most thorough nor the most prepared. You need to ask the right questions, or you don't get the answers. He was also the most expensive out there.

I hired HC Structural to review a geotechnical report on a home I was considering for purchase and provide and opinion and estimate for a restraining wall specified in the report. For a site visit fee Humza reviewed the report and he and his associate appeared on site with a contractor partner they work with. What I learned from this visit was invaluable in assessing the issues on the purchase I was about to make. Humza was able to access the situation quickly, discussed alternatives, and render an opinion on risk points which I greatly appreciated. I would use this company again.

Humza is amazing. I called him Friday afternoon at 2pm and asked if he could come that day to Sunnyvale. - completely last minute. He understood the situation and willingly sat in traffic. Had my business right there. At the property himself, he was awesome. He was able to look at things and determine weakness in the structure. He even found stuff that our inspector completely missed. He answered all of our questions, and even called a contractor on our behalf to get a quote. He is extremely knowledge and very patient and a very friendly attitude. I highly recommend him.

Humza is an extremely courteous and professional Structural Engineer. He worked with the "Fred Flintstone" plans (city did'nt approve) my contractor drew up, and designed a detailed working model that the City Planning Office approved on the very first visit. Humza addressed each of my multiple questions which made me feel VERY comfortable with him and his work. Thanks Humza.

I have been in the construction industry for forty years and have learned that success depends on cultivating teamwork between the parties involved in projects. Since I have used HC Structural Engineering my projects have experienced not only success but completion without contention and ill feeling. As a contractor its rare to find engineers who understand the construction process and more importantly are willing to go the extra mile to hear out our concerns. Not only did I complete the project before my deadline, I ended up saving the client around 10% of his budget with changes the HCSE team suggested we make. I will continue to build my relationship with a dependable and affordable company that actually does put its clients first. Had we stayed with Mr. Chowdry, we would still be waiting for a workable (cost effective) design for a small bathroom remodel, which we paid him for at the end of April almost 7 months ago. He is still providing us with a series of excuses for his poor response to deficiencies found by the city that would have cost an additional $10,000. He says such things as 10 different structural engineers would produce different designs, even though our contractor located a structural engineer who provided a cost-effective design within several days that was approved by the city. Thus we had to pay twice & he has refused repayment of even a part.

I found Humza to be extremely friendly and responsive. I'm not a professional builder, yet HCSE was able to work with my rough diagrams and sketches to create a workable model. Responses to my questions were usually addressed within hours, and the when I was satisfied with the preliminary drawings, the structural calcs were completed and mailed to me fast!

Humza was great to deal with. He responded quickly, communicated with the contractor we had selected and provided the engineering and plans in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Humza and his firm.
