Repair a Gas, Pellet, or Wood Stove

They fixed my fireplace, replaced the gas unit, cleaned and repaired the wood burning stove. This year, they cleaned my dryer vent. Great job. Good price for the scope of work

Repair a Brick or Stone Fireplace (Non-Gas)

Cunningham and Son's is hands-down the best Chimney company and from my experience in searching for the right company with the right price. Firstly they give free estimates which is a win in my book. Other companies want to charge you for estimates A couple of companies tried to upsale me And wanted me to pay $399.00 just for maintenance and repair would have been I'm sure some other ridiculous price. Cunningham and Son's did their free inspection and physically went on the roof no drone. I will definitely refer them to people I know that's in need of repairs. They gave me an estimate on the spot which I like and gave me the date to start and complete the work. I will never use or contact another company for Chimney repairs.

Clean and Inspect a Chimney or Fireplace

When another other company came out & tried to tell me my fireplace was unsafe for use due to some small cracks in the walls, I got a second opinion from Cunningham & Sons and I'm so glad I did. As we suspected our fireplace was safe for use & we did not need a new firebox installed. We simply needed two new refractory panels installed to make it safe for use and a chimney cleaning. Cunningham & Sons was quick & efficient in getting our repair completed. They had excellent communication through everything and were very helpful and informative. They also did not try to up charge us. Do yourself a favor and hire these guys and support their small local business.

Repair a Brick or Stone Fireplace

Excellent service repaired done to a 1974 fireplace fire brick cracked and surround needed mortar. Installed metal plates, insulation and re-mortared the surround.. Perfect , looks like new and now is safe to use.. highly recommended.

Repair a Pre-Fabricated Fireplace Unit

We had a set of gas logs that another company originally sold to us. There was a repair needed and that company could not complete the repair after multiple attempts. Cunningham and Sons to the rescue with the expertise to complete the repair at a very reasonable price. Now we use them for regular chimney and gas log inspections.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
