Write a ReviewHired to completely remodel condo. Started out fine except for knowing when they were coming and not coming to work. Crew would say they would be here tomorrow, but not show up for a couple of days. Then they would say they would not be here tomorrow and show up the next day. Crew were very nice but very messy. Left coffee stains on table and personal trash in the condo. Used the brand new toilet seats to hold tools, and scratched both. They replaced one. Used dining table as work table and scratched it also. It already has some marks on it, but did not need more. When the wallpaper was hung on a wall they built, there was a gap between the two edges of the wallpaper and you could see the drywall. I refused to accept. So they decided to try it again. Instead of removing the paper they already hung, they just hang the second try over the the existing paper. This left seams that were very visible. I again refused to accept. I was told that it was acceptable as is, and they could not fix because if they took the wallpaper off it would ruin the wall. Per Sherman Williams, this was because they did not prep the wall correctly. I ended up hiring a different contractor, we removed both layers of the wallpaper and hung the paper correctly on his first try. My dishwasher was installed crooked. There was paint on my fixtures. Ben stated that he cleaned them, I will gladly show pictures of what the fixture looked like after he so called cleaned them. During the construction, I had material that I bought before he started. He asked what I want to do with them. I said leave them on the porch. The crew took them away anyway. I was planning on returning many of the items. Ben started getting very unprofessional and used language that a business man should not use during our emails and text. This is not how you deal with customers that have a legitimate complaint. Then after they finished and all paid off minus deductions for the substandard work, I had a water leak in the bathroom they remodeled. I called a plumber to look at it. After tearing up the wall, they discovered that one of the finishing nails used in the remodel went right through the pipe. The water leak damaged the drywall and cabinet in the bathroom. Luckily I have tile floor. I informed Ben of this. NO RESPONSE of course. He states that he stands behind his work, HA.
This customer was offered complete refund for work she was unsatisfied with. Instead she withheld more money than the project was quoted at. She let her dog attack us on multiple occasions without remorse. We are still owed money from this customer to this day. We pride ourselves on making every job as perfect as can be, but some will never be happy. Statements made in this feedback are slanderous and untrue.
We hired Bayfront Building Solutions to replace old Masonite siding with cement board siding. Ben was quick to respond to our request for an estimate and get started on the job. I got several quotes and felt his was reasonable and he understood what we wanted done. Our foreman Sherman kept us informed on the progress of the job. It looks really nice and we are pleased with the outcome.
In February 2015 we hired Bayfront Building Solutions to do a full home remodeling project of our 3-bedroom and 2-bath home. The owner Ben Robinson and his team were excellent. They did a quality job that was on budget and schedule and most importantly the end result exceeded our expectations. Ben and his team were highly dedicated to the project working hard each and every day taking personal pride in their work. They had a can-do attitude and treated our project as if it was being done for their own homes, which says a great deal. Bayfront acted as our General Contractor and the project included demoing and reconfiguring walls, remodeling both bathrooms, all new plumbing, dry wall, laundry, flooring, kitchen remodel and interior and exterior painting. We managed the roofing, AC/Heating, window replacement and electrical contactors, which Ben was more than happy to accommodate. Ben was fair and honest and we would highly recommend Ben and his team.
He underbid the complexity of job by not having plumbers see it first. Did not pull permit until I insisted, then plumbers cancelled it immediately after hearing that new shower had been framed wrong, as I initially wanted a curbless shower and wall-hung toilet. I did agree to conventional toilet, but Ben told me curbless would be 'too much work, Even though I agreed to the upcharge, he never came back after demo-ing my bathroom to the studs and cashing $2000 check. He was polite at first, but obviously outside his range of experience.
This customer became completely irrational after a few days of being on the job. She scared away 2 of my plumbers and screamed at city inspectors in front of me. She changed her mind on design multiple times making it impossible to move the job foward. All proper steps were taken with permitting and the city to complete this job, but her interference and undecided design changes put a end to the job for us. Job permit was canceled by the city and a partial refund was returned minus labor and material cost to date. This bad review is a attempt by a very irrational customer to slander our business name.
Ben runs a first-class operation. His estimate was very reasonable and his final bill came in at what he estimated. His crew of carpenters, along with Mario his foreman, are top notch professionals, along with being very courteous and understanding. Cleaned up completely when they were done. My deck-stairs look better than I'd imagined and my wife and I are extremely happy with the product and the service. I will have no trouble in having BBS and Ben Robinson do my next home repair job, and in my recommending them to others. EXCELLENT WORK!
Ben and his team were very professional and completed the job as promised
We hired Bayfront Building Solutions after seeing good reviews on HomeAdvisor. They did two jobs for us at two different locations and we were impressed. They did a quality job, they did what they said they would, and Ben was easy to work with. We will use them again!
Ben is extremely professional and easy to get along with. I gave him a rough idea about my project and he was able to transform my remodel into a modern and luxurious house. I would highly reccomend him and his team. He did it for a fair price and I am very happy with the result.
We have young kids and the workman were very polite and coureous while in our house doing the work. We had some bumps to overcome (materials used and application of stain), and the work was a little rushed towards the end, but overall we were very pleased with the end result.
Didn't submit a claim to include parts AND labor- just labor. This caused a delay in the start date. He did, however, put money out from his own pocket to start it sooner. The interior doors don't quite close right. I will have to remove a little more material around the hinges to get them to shut properly.
