Michael was a nice guy. But for what was done, it was very expensive. Michael did a quick water only pressure wash, then applied the sealant. Had I waited, I had received an offer that was $1000.00 less than what I paid American Wood Care, and the preparation steps from the other company were much more involved. The Boodge product used on my back deck does recommend a simple pressure wash as preparation, before application, so hopefully that finish was done correctly and will hold up. On my front porch where I desired a different color than what was used on the back deck, I was told by Michael that he did not have access to the Boodge product for that color, so he purchased at Home Depot and applied an Olympic product that requires a more thorough cleaning with the Olympic deck bright product, that was not done. The result on the front porch is a very inconsistent look to the finish, and I am expecting that the finish will not last because it did not absorb properly due to lack of proper preparation. The front deck will need to be redone, which I offered to American Wood Care that they could do, or to refund that portion of the job so I can have it done with someone else, and I have not heard anything back from American Wood Care.

The owner is very knowledgeable and skilled. He has several side businesses like roofing and can advise or refer if needed.
