Electrical Switches, Outlets & Fixtures
"All the lights in my kitchen suddenly stopped working at the same time. The problem wasn't with the two switches I used to turn them off and on. The electrician, who showed up on time and was friendly and professional, checked both switches, went up into the attic and checked all the wiring and could not find the problem. He left, consulted some other colleagues and considered the problem before returning or charging me. He located a timer switch in my dining room that I had never paid attention to. That timer switch controlled the kitchen lights even though it wasn't in the same room. That switch had failed and once it was replaced my lights worked. I still don't use that switch and I have no idea why my kitchen lights would need to be on a timer that was in a separate room, but it's great to not be cooking in the dark! I don't think I ever would have figured that problem out on my own."

"Skipper & Sons installed a entryway chandelier in high ceiling 18' tall. They installed a new light and switch in an unfinished closet, and 3 new canned lights and new switch in my master bedroom. They also fixed the wiring in an existing switch in the downstairs hallway. They did professional electrical work."

"Scott came in to check my diningroom light fixture which had begun blinking on and off and I was worried that it had a short in it. He checked the fixture for the suspected short and found there wasn't one. He replaced the light bulb and left without charging me anything. The fixture with the new lightbulb in it is working just fine now. Thanks to Scott and his wonderful work in checking everything out before coming to the proper conclusion. Love him! When I need electrical work, I will definitely call Mr. Electric!!!!"

"Prairie View Electric is an A+ business. I did a major remodel and addition which required dealing with old electrical wires going/coming from who knows where, installing electrical both inside and outside the home and added an RV hook up. Dustin was quick, he's a clear communicator and took the time to understand my needs and explain when something needed adjusted instead of just making assumptions. I highly recommend his company and will definitely use them again in the future!"

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:
For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
4. How to Prepare & What to Know Before the Electrician ArrivesOlympia Electricians are rated 4.8 out of 5 based on 716 reviews of 716 pros.
