Comment: This request is for a church property of which I am chair of the Building and Grounds Committee. Our building is an A frame structure approximately 80' long by 40' wide. We have no structural drawings but believe the floor consists of three slabs, and a vertical displacement of the slabs has slowly been increasing. We believe, based on coarse laser level measurement that the outer slabs are subsiding at the building boundary and rotating, thus making it appear the center slab is subsiding. This displacement has been slowly increasing over the last several years. We have ruled out water leak as the church was shut during the Covid pandemic, yet the displacement continued to increase. We suspect ground water may be the issue. Interestingly we have not noticed any cracks in foundation wall or interior walls, although there appears to be slight displacement noticeable in the roof line. The building was built in the late 1950's as a church, remodeled into a house, and then converted back into a church. Address is 19080 East Ceylon St, Aurora, CO. We are searching for a firm that can inspect the building, identify the cause of the displacement and provide a report including recommendations for remediation, if necessary or feasible, and planning cost estimates.
