My experience with Matt was one of the worst contractor experiences I've had. What started as a kitchen remodel tied to an insurance claim became a stressful, expensive project marked by poor communication, lack of transparency, inflated pricing, and unfinished work. Despite repeated requests, Matt refused to provide a true itemized breakdown of costs. I found significant markups on materials, questionable labor charges, and pricing far above what other contractors quoted for similar work. He collected most of the project funds before major work was completed and later reduced the scope while still charging premium prices. When I asked for documentation and explanations, he became defensive and ultimately walked away, leaving work unfinished after collecting tens of thousands of dollars. I spent about $28,000, plus $7,400 in temporary housing costs, and was left hiring others to finish the job. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Matt.
