Matrix Basement Finishing Chicagoland Area

We chose Matrix for our basement remodeling. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a "headache-free" experience. They are professional and keep the customer informed of the project status while it progresses. The project manager was always on top of any issues that might arise. We didn't have the time or energy to deal with shoddy contractors, that is why we went with Matrix. -I'm glad we did!!

Their Superintendent of our job, Daniel, was incredibly responsive.

Yes, I cannot lie it was pricey however everything was done impeccably and I had the assurance that it was all done correctly....I am so pleased Sept thru January ( A big help was 0% financing on $100,000 for 5 yrs....) I have sent family and friends pics during this process and I do have a friend who is most interested in having her work done by Matrix for her basement also...Not to mention that we are considering getting a bid from Matrix for a year round cottage build on Gravel Lake in Lawton, MI....Everything is 98% finished and we know that our project manager will attend to getting the last few details finished...After we get the final painting done and get all furnished we will have several open house showings to share our beautiful new space that makes my duplex perfect and useful in my nearly 1,600 sq ft basement that now has a wonderful bedroom, full bath, snack bar, large family room with game/ reading nook and louvered doors to large storage room that is all completely finished...Best workers ever!!!

I had them do my bathroom a couple months ago. The job was done by a contractor and it was done well, and the person that completed the job was professional. Then the caulk started to separate at the seams and some holes appeared. The follow up work was done by a direct employee of Matrix and I had the same experience. All I hope is that the caulk holds and it isn't a larger issue that can't be seen.

Do not go with them, they could offer something too good to you but that is something not true.

I would highly recommend Matrix. We were given a price upfront and they stuck to the budget. The app they provided was great for knowing exactly what was to be completed and then they completed the project when they said they would. The supervisor was on the ball. He was readily available and would return my messages the same day. He personally inspected all the work and even had the contractors redo parts of the project when he was not satisfied with the work. 100% percent recommend them.

Matrix completed my basement and we are very pleased with the outcome! The Matrix team were all very personable and professional. Suzanna was always positive and quick with a resolution to any questions or concerns. David and Ron provided professional insight and were on site weekly to manage the trades that were working daily. The supplies were delivered promptly and put in the garage and each trade cleaned up daily before leaving. Mike W. & Brian K. were a pleasure to work with, always early and their excellent workmanship clearly shows. I would highly recommend Matrix for your basement or garage project.

The design steps where great but they never actually started the work and ultimately canceled the contract when they could not/would not meet there obligations. wasted 4 months of my time and cost me extra money getting other things done for there timeline that apparently never mattered. now I am back at Square one.
