Reviews
Write a ReviewI wish that I had asked for a quote on the project first so that I could see the breakdown. The project was twice as much as I had budgeted for. Initially I was told the hourly rate of the person providing the estimate and that it would be 1 day of work. I most likely would still have had the project done by this company but I would have planned differently.
NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE
One of my carpenters had some issues. Although they really liked him, I had to let him go. I brought in another carpenter and he saved them a significant amount of $. I saved them a couple of thousand dollars on the project. I also went and helped finish the project myself. I even picked up and delivered, and installed gravel at no charge. The place was spotless when I left as well as the quality of work was without reproach.
Jc carpentry communicated what they were going to do they showed up on time and did a great job
Very nice gang. Would have them back for other work. They were even careful about disturbing my garden.
Jim was good to work with and was very professional. Nate did our stairs and they look beautiful.
I was hoping to be writing a 5 star review but I feel like I was taken advantage of. The owner gave me a quote to clean the roof, $900 and noticed missing shingles . He quoted an extra $350 to fix the tiles. I agreed, after he finished the job he charged me 1500.00 because he said he did extra fixes. I have no way of knowing what he did or didn?t do and he should?ve told me he was changing the price before hand. When I told him that, he listed everything he did and claimed he deserved the extra $. I had no choice but to pay him -without having a husband around I felt strong armed. The next day I sent him a text and told him how I felt and that it was bad business. He still continued to justify his price . I was hoping to find a good, honest business to call on for other projects that are coming up but he chose to leave on a bad note. It?s unfortunate but I can?t trust him now.
The chimney had cracked concrete across the top as well as lead that needed to be replaced. I asked her if she wanted us to fix it as leaking was already happening. I gave her the price and she agreed. On top of that I power washed the back of the roof for free. I could not make her happy, but I tried.
Jim did a great job! I would definitely use him again
This contractor speaks English as does his crew. The men on the crew are polite and are able to complete the work with very little supervision. The contractor is able to identify both existing and potential structural problems and recommend solutions. The original project quote was $23,460 and the final cost including additional work was over $46,000. The work on the project failed building inspections twice and we were billed (and paid) the extra work and materials that were required to finally meet the building inspector's criteria. I would recommend careful examination of any proposal and review by legal counsel, and close scrutiny of invoices. I recommend that a proposal be required to include the cost of the building permit and disposal fees. I will provide photographs of unacceptable work and of work that is incomplete.
Mrs. H[Consumer name withheld at their request] wasn't part of the contract. I dealt with her husband who wanted to do all the extra work. I had a contract with him and he was the one who requested I replace three times as much decking as well as repair an extensive amount of rotten framing underneath another part of the deck where we weren't originally working. The call backs on the inspection came from owners request to reuse existing railings. Unfortunately, I had the overzealous building inspector that complained that some of the balusters on the old railings were an 1/8" too far apart. The second inspection failed because the bottom of the railing, which matched 85% of
Great work, great crew, showed up promptly, got the job done on time, and quickly. Cleaned up beautifully. Great communication.
Jim showed up quickly and did a great job for a fair price. He called me before any of the other's on Home Advisor and showed up the next day to start work. It turned out to be a big job and he went above and beyond in painting and sealing the rubber below the deck.
