Unfortunate to have to write this review - but necessary. Poorly performed concrete and install work which was deemed as "perfect" and unwilling to cooperate in remedying the failure of a job. I would strongly recommend finding another contractor for any concrete or patio work as unprofessionalism is very present.

Robert, Thank you for your feedback. The project was completed for your Father back in April 2022, and throughout the process everything was explained to your father and he agree on how the base of the pylon will be done. Inspection was performed and approved by the village of Northbrook on 4/14/2022 by inspector Wally Maynard.

We hired Jesus and his crew to completely redo our concrete driveway (including apron) and patio. They went above and beyond to clear out the old concrete along with the shrubs to make sure the concrete pour was clear of all debris. They were also able to change the pitch, so the water would flow away from the house. The finished product looks fantastic and we couldn't be happier.

I highly recommend J. Alvarado, and will be hiring them again to help me finish making my backyard dreams come true. I'm still saving up for a stone patio, so Jesus and his team were out today removing a lot of overgrown trees and shrubs. They've been fantastic from start to finish--professional, highly communicative (thank you, Lucy, for answering all my questions via email), thorough, efficient and hard working.

Don t even bother calling anyone else. Jesus and Lucy are a dream team as far as customer satisfaction goes, and the J Alvarado team did an incredible job with our patio! They were incredibly prompt and communicative, always showed up when they said they would, and always finishes the work they planned for any given day. Not only were there zero delays, but they also got the job done a month in advance (with our approval to change the dates, of course). Our patio project involved 120yr old street pavers that are not uniform in size of shape, which we assumed would prove a challenge for any contractor we hired. Not the case for Jesus. The man knows his sh!t. We could not be happier with the finished product!

This team was professional from the first meeting to establish the estimate up to their dedication to keeping us informed about the start date. Our project involved using old street pavers, which can be uneven in size. Jesus considered our preferences and knew about proper excavating, laying gravel and sand, tamping down the base and how to slope the patio for appropriate run-off. They finished in a timely manner and cleaned up. They worked through unseasonably cold weather to finish on time. We would definitely recommend this company.
