    Buyer Beware... They are nice people and were on time but the electrician had to cut out drywall sections inside to install 2 light fixtures outside the front door. Got a quote (which was not unexpensive) but it was recommended by a friend, so I went with it. At the end of the job, the electrician stated that I needed to hire a drywall contractor to fix the holes in the wall he had cut to install the fixtures outside. I argued and said that was never stated in the quote originally and that this changed the overall cost of the job. Call me old fashioned, but I believe the entire job and costs associated should be stated upfront when dealing with a reputable contractor. Nobody likes surprises, and now I can turn on my lights outside my front door, but as I walk in, four ugly holes remain in my wall inside. A job not done well, in my opinion!

    Mr. H [Consumer name withheld at their request] We are sorry to hear that you feel we didn't communicate the required work needed to complete the install, but you were informed about the drywall repair that was going to be needed after the electrical work was done on three separate occasions. First, our estimator informed your wife (you were unable to meet for the initial site visit) while at your home that some drywall repair would be needed in order to complete the install since the fixtures were going on an exterior wall and there was no access to snake the wiring. The second time was when you called us to book the appointment and had some questions. At which time you were informed again that you would need to have some drywall repair done after the install was complete. The last time we informed your wife again that the drywall would need to be finished by a drywall contractor as we only did a preliminary patch to cover the holes that were leading to the outside to prevent any bugs or draft coming in. I'm sorry you feel we didn't communicate this task, that needed to get done by a drywall company, to you properly. We made sure to inform you and your wife three separate times, but apparently that wasn't good enough. Regards, Gold Standard Electric
