The price on the base bid was very reasonable. As work progressed, several ideas came up. Pricing was consistent with base bid so we had quite a bit more done. Much attention to detail. Job was done right even where it would never show. Easy going man, pleasure to do business with. Will use again without hesitation.

Repair a Brick, Stone or Block Wall

Dan cored a new vent hole in a brick face for a new gas stove. He also filled in the old existing hole. The repair on the old hole is really good. You would never see it if you didn't know where to look. Very pleased with his work and attention to detail.

Install Concrete Patios, Walks and Steps

I like the work they did. HOWEVER, a tool I borrowed from my dad went missing and when I asked Dan to check to see if they picked it up by mistake he never followed up with me after multiple attempts to reach him by email and phone. This has led me to assume the worst and I would not use them again or recommend them unfortunately.

We were not aware of the tool that Stephanie mentioned by some chance being accidentally picked up with our tools when the job was cleaned up. We did look for the tool that Stephanie described to Dan on the phone and did not find the tool she was looking for after we finished the job. We would never take anything from a job that belonged to the owner. We take pride in being honest. We are sorry if the tool was misplaced.

We had them install a 750sqft stone patio, stairs, and dry creek bed and we absolutely love the patio. There was a miss-communication on the stairs portion, but the crew did everything possible to correct it and make it right. They would've received 5 stars if they had some photos to share with us at the proposal time, then the miss-communication would have never taken place. Overall very happy with the project, glad we did it.

Thank you for your review. We are trying to add pictures of our work to our website. For future clients, it would help us if you have a specific idea to try and get a picture of it off the internet or take a picture of what you want done and we can try to match that picture as close as possible.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
