DCL Construction has been great in the remodel of our home. Dan is on top of what needs to be done, has excellent ideas and a reasonable price. I recommend this company for any project - not just garages!

Full basement finish. They certainly fooled me! Walls are not level. You can see every seam of sheet rock even after I pointed this out and requested it to be re-done. All they did was added a bunch of mud and NOT fix the drywall. Texture is horrific and is costing me 3,500 to have re-done and re-painted. They used brushes for trim painting which leaves brush strokes everywhere and needs re-done. Live edge bar top was an oak craft panel with so much stain and some random finish that it is STILL sticky a month later. (I re-did that myself and did a better job on my first time than this "professional contractor"). ONE HEAT VENT in a 65 x 20 living room/bar/pool table area. Ended up with laminate counter tops because this "builder" was shocked that you have to plan on ordering that 4-6 weeks out. THEN the laminate counters were not even attached to cabinets below. I had to do that myself. Tile work is a joke except for the small portion that they hired out. Shower floor is so bumpy and not level that it will have to be ripped out before bare feet go on it unless you want your feet cut up. I tried to fire them half-way through and they talked me into giving them a chance to make it right. Only thing I regret more than hiring them in the first place is NOT standing my ground and firing them at texture. I had to fight every step of the way to get things that were discussed from the very beginning and they would lie and lie and state that it was never discussed! I should have recorded conversations but they seemed to nice. If ZERO stars were an option!! I still may hire a lawyer for out-of-pocket costs to fix their mess! Other issues: Doors don't match Nothing was ordered in advance They only bothered with what was at supply store the day they needed it and planned ahead for nothing No wood work at stairs was coated with a finish and they did not bother to stain the underside Wood does not match the rest of house no matter how many times I told them it was required to match They damaged existing stair trim and walls as they came in and out. Broke a toilet seat upstairs and replaced it with a plastic "outhouse" version.

I was very pleased with the bathroom remodel. Everything was done when Dan said it would be done and the cost was just what he estimated. The bathroom is now handicap accessible and is beautiful too. I am so pleased that I decided to continue the tile floor into the utility room and later into the kitchen. He did beautiful work with the tile. I highly recommend DCL!

Dan's work is very high quality, especially his tiling. My husband and I highly recommend him. We are pleased with the two bathroom remodels and all the other work he has done for us. Dan is friendly, professional, and easy to work with.
