Reviews
Write a ReviewVery professional answered all my question. The company proved to me that they do care a bit the customers.
-Work still needs to be completed a month later -Promised to install gutter guards for free. No one getting back to us -Told us we could increase like of credit if needed. Had to have wood replaced on roof, would not increase credit -Gutter installers did not clean up after the first day. Spend 2 hours cleaning nails, cigarettes, and other trash. We have kids and animals that play in the yard -Gutter installers did not clean the second day. MHI sent someone to clean up -Called multiple times, left voicemails, no one calls you back -Sent text messages, left on read or no response -Constantly asking for payment when work isn't complete -Gutters/guards already need to be fixed. Cracked and leaking -Due to nails not picked up, flat tire. Multiple nails found in driveway and in yard. -Had to have all 4 tires replaced. Asked if their insurance would cover, no response -Nail ended up in shoe
Zack took the time to explain everything to me and work on the funds I could get the need job done was very personable would recommend him and his company to have the great customer service and getting the job done
After Hurricane Ian, there was so much going on, so many roofing companies to choose from, and not to mention dealing with insurance. MHI did the hard work of working with the insurance company and getting the roof paid for. While waiting for the $$ to come through, they got us financed through a company with no interest/no payments for 18 months, so we didn't have to wait until the check arrived. The crew was here for a total of 4 days, and they worked the entire time. They were professional, and the project managers were fantastic. Easy to work with and great people. Definitely recommend MHI for any roofing needs.
MHI Roofing were great to work with. Very professional, fast and guy's that did the work couldn't have been nicer. I highly recommend them!
Cam Kinnee was very informative and hands on during the entire process. My roof looks absolutely amazing and is far beyond any expectations I had. I would recommend MHI to everyone
To Begin, I am a certified Building Enclosure Senior Project Manager who works on multiple projects for private and government projects. My expertise is to ensure that contractors and sub-contractors perform their obligations as required by using project specifications, manufacture recommendations and project requirements. I am fully qualified to ensure that during construction projects the installer follows all procedures, whether stated in your contract, project specifications or local area codes. I give you this information in hopes that you will take my review seriously, and that you understand I am here to protect the owner of the project requesting services. My experience with MHI started off on a high note with their salesman Cam. He presented himself as a professional and after providing me details (which I will share with you shortly) convinced me to spend an exceptional amount of money on their services. Day 1 - Scheduling occurred as Cam suggested during the initial sales pitch. However, once the team showed up on site everything went downhill. During my initial conversation with Cam, he asked me what was the most important aspect of the project to me? Being in this industry (and many of you already know) finding a contractor who will provide the services that have been solicited after an agreement has been made and following through on that agreement is hard to come by. What was most important to me, was having a supervisor on site at all times during the installation to make sure the material was correct, to ensure that the install occur properly and according to manufacturer’s recommendations was very important to me, because I am completely aware of how contractors and sub-contractors want to rush the install cut corners. To be frank, this did not happen. On day one the installers arrived at 7 am. The removal of the old roof did not occur until 8 am and when they started, MHI supervision had not arrived. A few tarps were laid at the bottom of the house, but no care was given to the house, or the landscaping around the house. As slate singles were removed from the main roof, debris was going everywhere. My neighbor’s car, which was parked in the driveway was almost hit multiple times. I communicated to MHI that the process had started and the response I received was and I quote (I have the text message screen shot) @ 8:13am "Hi good morning! There was some traffic, so I'll be there in about 20 mins". After several near misses with the neighbor’s car I text again @ 8:34, "you need to be here. I cannot have the singles hitting the neighbor’s driveway". Minutes later the supervisor arrived and displayed little to no urgency or regard to my concerns. As he explained to me, he went to ask my neighbor to move their vehicle forward a bit, and they were already coming out of the house with concern and moved their vehicle completely away from the project. To be kind, they were outraged. It was my expectation that no work was to start until the supervisor ensured if was safe to do so. Let me be clear for you, there was no care or concern taken for my property or my neighbor’s property prior to the job starting. After arrival, not much changed. Single flew off the roof with little regard where they went, shrubs, trees, driveways, etc. Although oversite was there, there was no oversite that occurred. And please keep in mind, oversight is my job, and it is what I do for a career. During the removal and installation multiple areas of my property were damaged. I have all new vinyl windows and all four dormer windows where scratched and one screen window was ripped. There was one small area that had newly planted shrubs and grass with straw on top that was trampled. My back porch was not covered, my grill was hit with multiple singles, and was a complete mess. When these issues were identified at 3:15- 330 pm by myself, i went to inform the onsite supervisor and I found out that he had left. I immediately called him and asked where he was and told him of the issues and he apologized, stating that there would be traffic going home and he needed to leave. Mind you, the roofers continued installation and where onsite until about 730 - 800 pm. At this point I called Cam to tell him what was happening, and his response was, "I guess we should have had someone who lives closer work that project". Now, in my profession, this is not a acceptable answer. If workers are onsite, supervision needs to be there, especially when it is conveyed that that services will be provided. Later on in the evening the installers came to me to let me know that they did not have enough material to finish and that they needed more material. I was unsure if they would be able to get the material for the next day and because the installers did not speak English it was difficult to communicate. I called the supervisor and Cam, and the responses were agitated as if I was bothering them. This was completely an unprofessional way to communicate to a client and I have not witnessed this type of unprofessionalism in my career. After the onsite installers tried to confirm with me that they would have the material in the morning, the supervisor and Cam relayed to me that they would make sure more material would be onsite in the morning. Keep in mind, this took up 4 hours of my time on the first day. Day 2- As was the previous day the installers showed up at 7 am. MHI supervision did not arrive on site until 1030. Materials showed up at 815 am with additional installers. Again, almost 4 hours with no onsite supervision as pitched during the initial contract negotiations with Cam. Once a majority of the install was complete, I started to inspect the installation (most likely to the surprise of the entire MHI team) I started to notice poor craftsmanship in their work on the gutter boxes. I have since been receiving information from the manufacturer on proper installation procedures and I noticed discrepancies. This review is not about the quality of installation or material provided, rather the professionalism of MHI employees. I will be submitting subsequent reviews detailing the installation process and how it is contrary to the manufacturer's recommendation and the continued interactions with MHI to repair the damage to my property. This review is strictly about the professionalism, or lack of, that was displayed during the installation process. Let’s be clear, prior to this review and the installation being "completed" I requested from the site supervisor, when he was there, that someone contact me to discuss these issues. No Call. I called Cam, no answer. I texted him and asked if he could call me at his earliest convenience, no response. After several more calls to him, he finally answered angerly and ridiculed me for call him because he was busy. I stated to him, the professional thing to do would have been to acknowledge my call/text with a statement that he would be in touch shortly. From this point on, there has been a complete lack of professionalism and willingness to address my concerns. When I told Cam about my concerns of the damage and the lack of supervision, he stated to me that from what he could see from pics (assuming those came from the onsite supervisor) that I have a great roof installed. Like he was trying to sell it to me again. Complete disconnect from the issues brought up. Subsequently I received an email with drone pictures showing the roof and the gutter boxes only, after the installation was complete. I can only imagine this is his attempt to show me a "great roof" when in reality my concerns are with the damage to the property (i.e. windows, and landscaping) and the poor craftsmanship of installation which cannot be seen from a drone 25 - 30 feet in the air. I will be submitting to them a detailed Building Enclosure Installation Report that identifies the issues though I doubt they will take much concern over it. I am fully prepared to take any and all legal action that I need to remedy the situation. My hopes are that you will read this review and the others that are to come in regard to following procedure, craftsmanship a
Thank for your review. We have attempted to resolve any issues and you have refused to talk to us. We have attempted in good faith to contact you multiple times to discuss these issues. Please feel free to contact Andy to discuss this further and get it resolved.
Connor was an absolute professional and courteous. He made my mom feel at ease and fully informed her of everything that he noticed and pointed out flaws that other companies did not. The crew that came out to do the roof worked all day to get the roof done and it looks awesome. They even went above and beyond and helped my mother with some other issues that she was trying to take care of herself. Awesome company that doesn’t just talk the talk but walks the walk.
Perfect. Quick and professional
Amazing from Star to finish. Everything turned out exactly as promised by Drew Kinnee!
