BUTLER BROHTERS ODD JOBS are Unprofessional: *No written estimate. *Arrived unprepared to work on glass atrium: *No ladder, *No caulking material or gun (I paid for cauling from Home Depot); *No safety equipment. *No proof of accident insurance or registered business with county clerk. WORST: MY ATRIUM STILL LEAKS. First repair 5/5/16, 2nd: 5/12/16. NO IMPROVEMENT. Robert Flora and Alan Butler accepted a check for $213 for a job that WAS NEVER COMPLETED. Small claims court will address deceptive trade practices /services theft and misrepresentation of their ability to do a job they said they COULD do. MY ATRIUM STILL LEAKS. They referred me to another crew (John Saxe) to fix atrium panes, who said NO PROBLEM- CAN DO!! At least they provided an estimate, had their own ladders and caulking. First attempt: leaking like a seive when the rain came that night!! The second trip was last Thursday and guess what? His crew did not return last Mon, Tues, Wed., as promised. Friday the crew showed for the second time and MY ATRIUM STILL LEAKS. I set an appointment for 5/31/16 9 - 10 AM. John's crew did not show, but promised 06/01/16. If the atrium is not fixed tomorrow - I will be left with no choice but to add Saxe to the suit - and have Mr. Butler, Flora and Saxe explain their incompetence and dishonest business practices to the judge. DO NOT HIRE ANY OF THESE GUYS oN 5/12//16, the 2nd repair was the same day as my request for a trash menoval. Estimate: $250. That was about right the amount of junk. He called the dump before arriving at my place. He left for the dump, said he'd be back for two items. The dump said they're full (just these few hours later) -he called and siad the expenses of traveling to Austin, etc. came up to $450. I said ok: Come back when I get home from work, I'll see the job you completed and I will give you a check. He came back - did not pick up items - BUT TOOK THAT CHECK - FILLED IT IN FOR THE THE AMOUNT. THE WAY THESE GUYS HANDLE BUSINESS MAKES THEM LOOK LIKE THEY ARE CROOKS!! WE'LL SEE IF THE COURT AGREES. SUSAN C.

Response from Company:

First off my sympathy about the entire situation and all of the confusion associated with your project. However, I would like to clarify a few things. First off we are a bonafide business vetted with several organizations. We have a proven track record of excellent customer service. Therefore your accusations that we are a fraud and not a true business are false. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We are a certified contractor with Google, Home Advisor, Porch.com, Wayfair, and Lowes. We are also registered as a legitimate business with Bastrop County,TX call Doc Johnson at the County Clerk Office and ask. The initial project request from you through Home Advisor was for a Repair to an Existing Shower Door or Enclosure. When we spoke by phone the project turned out to be something entirely different and more extensive. You had leaking windows that were about 15 foot tall that arch at the top that needed to be sealed. At that point I referred you to another independent contractor in your area that may be able to help you since I had a high work load at the time and could not take on another large project as a result of the recent storms. Robert Flora was the independent contractor referred to you. You hired him and whatever diagnosis and estimate that was made at that point was solely between you and Robert Flora and there was no affiliation with my company Butler Brothers Odd Jobs. Butler Brothers Odd Jobs never received any form of payment from you for any window repair work. From what I understand after Robert Flora performed some caulking around the areas that you instructed him to it still leaked, and you called me unsatisfied with his work. Therefore I gave you the contact information to another independent contractor that could help you John Saxe. Again Mr. Saxe has no affiliation with my company Butler Brothers Odd Jobs and any diagnosis and estimate that was made at that point was solely between you and Mr. Saxe. I did however perform an entirely separate task for you a couple of weeks later as requested including the collection and disposal of trash on your property. This was an entirely different project from the window repairs. As stated in your review there was an issue with the disposal center being full. It is a small town and they only have one container to service the community and it is on a first come first serve basis. We called the City of Smithville,TX that morning and there was still room available. By the time we loaded up the 6 foot by 12 foot trailer 4 foot tall full of trash and arrived at the disposal center mid-morning the disposal center was already full. This situation was out of our control. We called and informed you immediately. Therefore we had to take the material to another disposal center and only did so after your verbal consent. Therefore the cost was vastly different because a private disposal center is not tax payer subsidized. We only charged you for the addi

They were very prompt, efficient, and cleaned up the area when the job was completed. We found them friendly and skilled. They also saved us money by using some supplies that we already had on site.
