Thank you for responding to my concerns about the installation of gutters on my flat roof during the summer. I selected Berger Home Services to install two sections of gutters on each side of the chimney and over the balcony for a cost of $900 plus tax. App. $76.50 = $976.50. This installation of gutters was to prevent water from flowing over the roof and causing damage to my roof, balcony, and the sliding glass door trim. Hank Smith was my salesman, and Eric was the customer service manager, who guaranteed that if the company installed the gutters incorrectly, they would make any necessary repairs or replacements. I mentioned that neither of the men is employed at Berger Home Services, and Omar is the man I was asked to speak with. Omar requested pictures, and they were sent to him. I knew nothing about gutters, so I was unaware that an edge drip was not installed; instead, the installers nailed the gutters to the metal trim around the house. I called Eric several times about water seeping down between the roof and the gutter. Eric ordered a flash to help prevent water from flowing over the gutters. That was not the problem...water was flowing between the roof and the gutter. Eric had the men return to add a lot of caulking. Now, the caulking is cracking, and it is so thick that it causes water to pool and dam up an area. Omar will not return my call to set up an appointment to correct the problem and add an edge-drip. My computer will not accept pictures anymore from my phone, so I will be glad to forward/text them to a phone. I am trying to prevent a lawsuit that is being suggested to me ...so let's see what we can do to move forward and see what you can suggest. All I want is the gutters installed over an edge drip, not a make-up job.

This complaint is entirely without merit. The client?s roof issue is not related in any way to the gutters we installed over a year ago. The area of the roof that recently caved in is nowhere near the section of guttering our company worked on. We have been in direct communication with the homeowner on multiple occasions regarding her concerns, and during our most recent conversation, she stated she would speak with her roofer and call us back today with more information. As of now, we have not received that follow-up call. Unfortunately, this appears to be a situation where the homeowner assumes that because we completed work on her property a year ago, any problem that arises afterward must somehow be our responsibility. That is simply not the case. Additionally, the financial details listed in the complaint are inaccurate. The total cost of the work performed was $900 flat. We do not charge sales tax on gutter installations, and never has. The client?s stated total of $976.50 is incorrect. Our company fulfilled the scope of work as contracted, and all gutters were properly installed and inspected at the time of completion. The current issue being described stems from roof-related deterioration that has nothing to do with the gutter system. We remain willing to review the matter further if new, relevant information is provided by the client or her roofer, but at this time, there is no valid claim against our company.

The representative came out to check out my gutter because the gutter wasn't draining wasn't draining water . The representative set up a time to fix my gutter and they came out right on time. They exceeded my expectations.
