I am not sure if ARS of Virginia is the same business as ARS / Rescue Rooter Manassas but the latter called me and told me that they got my info from Angi/homeadvisor so I am assuming these two companies are the same. Another red flag when the company uses different names in different places. My kitchen sink had been clogged for a couple of days. It became an urgent need as I have a young child at home and needed to get that sink unclogged asap. The senior technician that came to do this work at my house was not experienced. Charged me $250 for just opening the drain and trying the drain auger similar to the one I had bought on Amazon. He even used a plunger on the sink for 10 minutes. Then proceeded to quote me $1,500 - $2,000 for additional work that included cutting 2 ft. X 2 ft. holes in the basement to see the path of the drain pipes so that he could use drain auger through those holes. I said I needed to think about it as it basically became a $2,500 - $3,000 job just to UNCLOG THE SINK!!! He said that if i do not let him do the work then, he could not guarantee any discounts later. I said I will take my chances. Next day, I called my neighbor who is a professional plumber himself. He had been out of town so I had not called him in the first place. He came and took care of the clog within 20 minutes. He had the professional grade drain auger which was around 75 ft. long. He use it to slip through the entire length of the drain pipe from the kitchen and unclogged the drain. It cost me $300 to get the job done. I called ARS but never was able to speak with the manager. Unethical and un professional business practice. I want to submit this so if you are in the same situation as mine, have another expert look at your problem and possibly save thousands of dollars of your hard-earned money!

We have had service contract with ARS Since 1998 we would recommend them highly The tech was very knowledgeable of his work and explain to me about the humidifier so that Iâ  d understand about it. I would give him a 10 all the way

Although they provide a time frame for service, frequently they are late or have to re-schedule. When ARS installed my furnace, they provided a humidifier as well. However, the humidifier is not included in the maintenance contract, and any work or filter change on the humidifier is extra. The cost is almost as much as the maintenance contract. They used to answer the phone asking how they could provide exceptional service. No longer do they ask that. Makes sense, because they do not provide exceptional service. Also, the technician seems to want to convince you to buy additional equipment, which may or may not be needed.

ARS is extremely good. I love their Elite plan. Their technicians are knowledgeable. Jorge Silva was very customer oriented and detailed in his explanation. He gave us tips on how to extend the life of the AC unit and had genuine customer concern attitude
