Reviews
Write a ReviewUsed a shop vac to sweep what they did get out, leaving a coat of dust on everything in our living room. Used 1 sponge they wet once to clean. We were quoted $75, with multiple discussions on what they could do. Explained all the $75 was for inspection and sweep from the top of chimney, which we had removed last year. $600 for a deep cleaning and then tried to charge $1200. If this was a deep cleaning, I ll eat my hat. We signed contract with no amount on it.
Thank you for bringing (NAME REMOVED) complaint to our attention. I want to provide some clarification regarding the services we provided. During our initial communication, we explained that Shamrock Chimney offers a standard chimney sweep service for $75. However, upon inspecting Mrs. Burhart's chimney, our technician discovered an excessive creosote buildup, which required a chemical treatment for effective removal. We then proposed a chemical treatment, usually priced at $1,000, but offered a significant discount to do the service for $600. (NAME REMOVED) signed the invoice acknowledging and agreeing to these terms, and there were no objections or concerns expressed throughout the service. In addition to the chemical treatment, we also re-pointed three courses of brick, as clearly outlined in the invoice. We also attempted to reach out to (NAME REMOVED) to discuss her concerns, but she has refused to speak with the manager and is solely focused on receiving a refund. As we explained to her, the black residue in the firebox is a result of years of burning wood and is not something that can be removed through cleaning. Creosote removal addresses the build-up inside the flue of the chimney, which is where it poses the greatest risk. Shamrock Chimney does not believe that a reimbursement is necessary in this situation since we had a valid, signed contract with (NAME REMOVED) prior to the work being performed, and we stand by the quality and integrity of our service. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. If you need further information or have any questions, please let us know.
