Received quote for furnace cleaning of $180 for first hour plus parts was told run 8-10 dollars each. Select Mechanical arrived on Thursday 10/19/2023 around 9:30am . Job took about hour and 15 minutes and was charged $359. Labor charge was $300 and $55 for parts. Sunday evening went upstairs and found heat blasting. The heat is kept off on second floor because it is not used. Checked thermostat on 2nd floor and it was set for 64 degrees. I did not know why heat was on and why I could not turn it off. Called my neighbor and asked if he could check as to why the heat was on. He went to furnace and found that the 2nd floor circulator was in the manual position to run the heat. He turned the circulator to the correct position and the heat went off. For four days the heat was blasting on the second floor and I was not aware of it until I went upstairs. I called SM and was told that I had agreed to the 180 plus parts and any time addition time would be 120 per hour they stated I agreed to this before they came out to do the work and nothing would be done.

Gary (owner), Brian and Bill did an excellent job replacing our propane gas furnace. Good pricing, speedy service, new furnace installed in 24hours from first visit, quote in February during supply chain issues, no easy feat, and replaced with a quality name brand. Don't hesitate to hire them if your system stops working.

I lost heat in my home on Friday, this is after I had a local handy-man come on Thursday to bleed my pipes because of water flowing sounds in my base-board, which I also had done last year. I called and waited for the same handy-man to come back on Friday after his regular job and was then I was basically told by the handy-man he probably couldn't do anything further to get it running and recommended I contact a professional. It was now close to 5pm on Friday so I went online and found Select Mechanical Services and filled out the Home Advisor quick on-line question which included how urgent it was and instantly after I did, I received a telephone call from Gary at Select Mechanical and he came on Saturday morning, as I had told Gary I was using electric heaters, so I was okay for Friday night. I don't mean to repeat a previous high rating post, but again he was a great service man, knew his stuff, very friendly and kept me informed of the problems and issues at every stage. I will admit that I had not had my furnace professionally service/cleaned for a couple of years, so Gary had found more than one (1) problem and fixed them all! I highly recommend using Select Mechanical and a Professional.
