Met with Jimmy & Allie Alley, and their construction foreman Michael Horsley. Was given several options on colors and vinyl wrap siding to redo our 20+year log siding home. After listening to them, and they listened to our needs we came up with a plan. The total renovation on exterior took approximately 3 weeks. This include repainting metal roof, new screws as needed. Total wrap of exterior with a vinyl siding that looks great. New paint from roof to basement. We have finally won the battle with carpenter bees, and woodpeckers after all these years. Really amazing the exterior transformation. Very happy!!

Big House Construction and Shane Spink in particular are fantastic! They responded to my request for a quote immediately, were priced competitively, and scheduled me quickly in order to meet a deadline I had. Even with weather delays they were able to accommodate me on time, and the roof looks fantastic. Highly recommend them.

We had a tree fall on our house a little over a year ago, and Big House handled the rebuild of about 40% of my house, including the roof, the primary bedroom, some plumbing issues, and more. While other folks/companies took advantage of us and treated us quite poorly during such a trying time, Big House was incredibly helpful from start to finish. Max, our manager of the job, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, understood what was happening and how to navigate the rebuild, and even months after the job had technically been finished has continued to help us as we sell our house. Can't recommend Big House enough, and will be using them in the future.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
