Paint USA, Jimmy and his whole team are the real John Wayne of Painters! They not only saved me in a huge time of need, but were courteous, kind, funny, fast, knowledgeable, treated me with respect and that kind-of friendship style of personality! You need to hire him and his team! You will not regret it! He is very professional and the job was completed very well! I don't know how this page isn't filled with hundreds of glorious reviews! Thank You Jim and Team! Hats off to ya'll!

We hired Jimmy to work on our knockdown ceilings and painting, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. While he certainly talks a big game about his skills, the quality of work was beyond disappointing. He failed to remove all of the popcorn ceiling before applying the knockdown so it shows through on the ceilings. He left popcorn ceiling remnants along the edges and then painted and caulked over it. The pattern looks like a chaotic mess of zebra stripes going in all directions. The corners look like he just slapped on some mud without any care. To make matters worse, he did not prime the ceiling, or allow for drying time, so yellow stains are already bleeding through. This paint job is equally bad, so light in some rooms that the old color shows through, and there is new paint all over my trim. Jimmy took it upon himself to touch up my trim. He gave his female helper a can of paint and told her to touch up. When the male helper pointed out the color difference, Jimmy offered to touch up all of my trim for an additional fee. I declined. I did originally ask him to paint 2 additional rooms. I told him I was happy to schedule it for another time but he said it would be no problem. He did all of the ceilings and painted all but 4 rooms of a 2500 sq ft home in 34 hours. That includes prep and clean up. When I tried to address my concerns, Jimmy got extremely defensive, yelling over my husband and calling me a picky mother fer. His attitude made me so uncomfortable that I had to leave my own house when he came back to fix a few things, which, unsurprisingly, only made it worse. There was a discussion about the cost because I was charged to paint two rooms because they ripped the top two inches of paint off when removing the tape that holds the drop cloths. We also never received the promised receipt for supplies. I have since had two contractors come in to assess the damage, one of them laughed, saying he is had to fix Jimmys work before. It is going to cost me $14,000 to repair the ceilings. This was a terrible experience from start to finish, and I would never recommend Jimmy to anyone. I do not know what is more sad, the fact that he took advantage of us, knowing that my husband is fighting cancer, or that he would so boldly lie about what happened.

Response from Company:

We are sorry to hear/see this type of review after all the hard work that was done to complete this job and make our customers happy. Dawn had mentioned to Jimmy at the start of the job that her husband had just finished with some medical issues and if anything had happened to him she did not want to be left with an incomplete house and requested that Jimmy add more jobs to the original job bid. She said that money was not going to be an issue because there had been a death in the family and they were good to go. Jimmy did not spray any popcorn in this job but he did explain that the original popcorn spayed was on their ceilings and on their walls. He explained the whole process of removing the popcorn and that he wouldn't be able to remove it from the wall unless she wanted those painted and she said no it would be ok.That is the popcorn she is speaking of in the review. Dawn also had asked on of the team members to touch up the trim (that was not part of the bid) and gave them a can of paint. Once it was figured out that the paint she gave them was the wrong color Jimmy was going to have his team fix the error and she said "no I gave them the wrong paint I will take care of it", only later to have her husband call and say she was unhappy with what had happened and asked for Jimmy to come back and fix the trim (Jimmy agreed to fix the trim). From the beginning Jimmy was put in a bad position because Dawn was not honest with her husband about the extra work she requested to be performed and why. He was upset with the final bill, and asked a lot of questions. Jimmy was honest with him and Dawn was not happy with her husband finding out the truth. No contractor should be put in this situation as it makes for a bad outcome on both sides. Jimmy never asks for monies up front and is only paid at the end of the job when his customers are happy. He was paid in full at the conclusion of the job and there were hard feelings with Dawn and her husband heard the truth about the extra costs of the job. Jimmy made several trips back out to the house to correct what they requested and left with her husband thanking him many times and shaking his hand. Dawn had thanked Jimmy and his workers throughout the job and even given them tips saying the work looked great. So it is to our surprise of this review and the comments made by her. We only wish these customers the best and sorry they feel this way. It's not a good feeling that Dawn treats contractors and residents this way in the city where her husband works as a public figure. In our many years of business no other contractor has ever had to come fix our work, this is also not a truth being told by Dawn. I am sorry she feels the need to continue being untruthful but understand she has the right to her opinions and feelings as do contractors who are put in bad positions because of dishonesty.

My experience with Paint USA (Jimmy) was extremely disappointing and frustrating from start to finish. Here is a detailed account of the issues I encountered: Communication: First and foremost, the communication from Jimmy was severely lacking. He did not inform me of the start date or the daily schedule, leaving me in the dark about when they would be arriving and working on my property. Quality of Work: The core issue arose when I specifically informed them about the rotten siding that needed replacement. Instead of addressing the problem as promised, they simply caulked over it, which is not only a temporary fix also completely unacceptable given the potential for water damage, especially considering it was potentially leaking above a garage. Cleanup and Damage: During their work, Jimmys crew spilled paint all over my driveway, resulting in a permanent stain that now mars the appearance of my property. Furthermore, after finally fixing the siding, Jimmys crew left nails scattered across my driveway. This oversight not only posed a safety hazard but also reflects their careless approach to completing the job properly. Unprofessional Behavior: When confronted about the incomplete and subpar work, the Jimmy initially claimed ignorance of the siding issue, despite it being clearly documented on the original work order as fix wood issues. They only replaced the rotten siding after complaints and pushback from my side. Billing Issues: To add insult to injury, when he came for payment, Jimmy attempted to charge an additional $150 for materials to fix the very siding they should have replaced in the first place. When I questioned this discrepancy and pointed out that their quote already covered the work, Jimmy became confrontational and unprofessional, even storming off when challenged. Lack of Documentation: Additionally, I did not receive any sort of receipt or itemized list of expenses, which is standard practice in any professional transaction. This lack of documentation raises serious concerns about their business practices and transparency. Positive Note: Despite the numerous issues I faced with Paint USA, I must acknowledge that the paint job they completed looks extremely well. The quality of the actual painting work was commendable, although unfortunately overshadowed by the significant shortcomings in other aspects of their service. Overall, my experience with Paint USA was marked by poor communication, shoddy workmanship, damage to my property, attempted overcharging, and unprofessional behavior. I would strongly advise against using their services and caution others to thoroughly research and consider their options before hiring for any painting or siding work.

Response from Company:

This job was done by working with his wife not him. Jimmy was in communication with her through the whole process. It was at the end of the job when it was time to be paid that her husband didn't want to pay for the extra wood rot damage that was fixed at his request. When payment was made it was clear about all the materials, job work that was to be completed, and the communication was never with him always with his wife. Jimmy took his money and told him that he can keep the extra 150 and he wouldn't be back to paint the living room and cabinets they requested to be done. Jimmy walked around the house and saw the good work that was done, there were no paint stains in the driveway, no screws on the driveway, and everything was clean just like when we arrived. Jimmy has painted over 5 houses in the same neighborhood with no complaints like this to speak of. This is someone who has nothing better to do than complain when he was trying to not pay for work he requested to be done.

Jimmy and his crew were prompt, courteous, extremely professional, and finished in record time. They repaired cracks and offered to perform extra touch up we needed on the ceiling. Great value for the money. We'll definitely have him back!

Great job, great price, and prompt. Jimmy and his crew repaired cracks in the wall and a large crack in the popcorn ceiling. They also painted our walls and stained our deck. It looks like we have a brand new house. If you hire them, you won't be sorry.

Jim is the only person you should EVER hire for any wall or ceiling work. They went above and beyond for our house. Our house was a hot mess due to every inch of the walls being covered in thick plaster texture and thick popcorn texture on the ceilings. He finished it earlier than expected for an amazing price. Hoping to have him back for another project or two.

They did a great job. I had a small window to get it done and they were able to accommodate. I got three quotes and they were half the amount. I would definitely hire them for future paint jobs.
