NOWA Construction, formerly known as Nunes Floors & Stones, Inc., is a local, family owned and operated General Contracting Company specializing in flooring, tile and stone. We focus mostly on bathroom remodeling, including bath to shower conversion, as well as kitchen remodeling, amongst many other renovation projects. At NOWA Construction we offer remodeling expertise that has a superb reputation with our customers, which is why we run mostly on referrals. We are fully licensed and insured, holding the highest of standards no matter how small or large the project is. We are well known for our safety, cleanliness, quality and satisfaction, which are among the top concerns, every time. We care as much about the quality of our work as you care about your home. How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I have always enjoyed working with my hands, whether it is building something from scratch, putting something together and turning it into a master piece. There is nothing more gratifying than taking something old, dirty and outdated and turning it into something new, modern, functional, and esthetically pleasing. Working in construction, renovation, and remodeling is not only fun, but a blessing as well. There is instant gratification every time a project gets done, where customer satisfaction is always a must. We love what we do, and it is our goal to reflect that on every job we do..

Renovate or Repair a Home

NOWA Construction was efficient and very professional. My residence went from a 40 year old modest apartment to a modern, clean and beautiful home. His crew handled every aspect of a remodel from plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and air conditioning. All previous materials were removed and the entire condo was cleaned and fresh. In addition, NOWA communicated every detail professionally and in a timely manner. Thank you

Remodel a Kitchen

The job was never completed. The floor installation was poorly done. The floor is uneven and needs to be redone. Cabinets were installed improperly Willian was given the specs for appliances and new appliances do not fit any GFIs installed near sinks. No 220 outlet was installed for the stove. He charged 1000 cash for a new door that was never delivered or installed. I would not recommend.

Willian came highly recommended to me and I have to agree. He did a complete remodel of my bathroom. The price was right. The work was beautiful, completed on time and he kept my home neat and clean during the remodel. I would definitely hire him again.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
