This was my first time working with a construction company and Chase and his team made everything very easy and we were extremely happy with the work that was done. Everything was done on time, on budget and very professionally. Andrew and Sandy were amazing with communication and James was great to work with making sure we were satisfied. The team helped offer advice and help get everything ordered. We plan to use them again in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone looking.

I highly recommend Maize Restoration & Remodeling. Chaise, James and team did an amazing job in gutting our first floor bathroom and remodeling it to the highest standards. Chaise explained the process, the cost, and the timeline and the project met and exceeded our expectations! You can not go wrong with this company. Attaching before and after pictures!

    Response from Company:

Thank you so much Ron!!!1 Was a pleasure working with you and Anastasia! We will see you on the next project! Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Buyer Beware I chose to work with Maize after reading positive Angi?s reviews. Now having survived my own project, I can see there was a critical difference. All the reviews talked about Chase, but his much younger brother Andrew ran my project. Andrew went weeks without visiting the job site, leaving me on multiple occasions to problem solve job site issues with his team, or mediate disputes between them and Andrew. When I asked Andrew for better communication on project plans, he promised to over communicate?.which lasted less than a day before I came home to find a promised project step not begun. Andrew being new to the industry is one thing, but Maize is Chase?s company and he did not oversee Andrew?s work in any discernible way. I attempted to remove Andrew from my project because I couldn?t handle the dysfunction anymore, but Chase would not step in. The project was ultimately completed (in 2 1/2 months vs initial schedule of 2 1/2 weeks). The project price doubled after unforeseen conditions were found, which resulted in significant new work. However I was also presented with invoices for change orders that were not discussed or priced out while the work was underway, there was a lot of damage done to my yard, and part of the work was not done to scope/reasonable quality. This last one was supposed to be remediated, but 6 weeks later they won?t even return my calls. My bad for paying them the final check! If you have the time/energy/interest to dog every step of a project, provide quality control and you don?t care how long it takes, Maize might be right for you. Otherwise, I would not recommend!

    Response from Company:

Here at Maize, we deeply regret hearing about the challenges you faced during your project with us. From the very beginning, we introduced you to your dedicated project managers, Andrew and Daniel, ensuring a high level of quality control with Daniel on-site almost daily. Andrew consistently monitored the site to align everything with the project scope. However, an unforeseen water damage issue significantly increased the scope and timeline of our work, extending the original 3-4 week estimate to a total of 7 and a half weeks. We promptly informed you of the necessary change order, providing a detailed cost breakdown for your review and approval. At no point did we pressure you; our intent was to leverage our industry expertise to guide you effectively. Andrew?s primary role was to manage various subcontractors, including electricians, HVAC specialists, and concrete workers, ensuring their tasks were completed as required. Regarding the final payment, you initiated the request to pay it, and we would never have asked for it if the work was incomplete. After you expressed a desire to handle certain minor fixes yourself, such as paint touch-ups, we respected your decision despite our commitment to completing the project fully. We regret that we could not meet your expectations due to factors beyond our control, such as change order items and inspections. While we strive to protect your landscape, certain tasks, like backing a concrete truck onto the grass, pose unavoidable risks, which we transparently communicated would not be our liability. Ultimately, we believe the project achieved your vision, albeit with an extended timeline due to the expanded scope. We genuinely apologize for any inconvenience and remain committed to improving our processes based on your feedback.

A friend of mine who hired Maize for her kitchen remodel recommended them for my bathroom. Hired them for my bathroom and was pleasantly surprised. The team communicated throughout the whole process. I wasn t sure on designs patterns or colors but Cisco the project manager helped walk me through everything. Finished a week after expected completion date and I LOVE my new bathroom! Would definitely recommend Maize for your next home renovation.

    Response from Company:

Thank you so much enjoy your new bathroom, Linda!!!

Very professional , everything was explained to me, exactly why they were doing what had to be done and why and the cost. I was given another option if I thought that I wanted to go the least expensive route. After giving it some thought I opted for the best way of doing the job , the right way and have been very happy I did, when we had the down pours a couple of weeks ago I went over everything they did to make sure it did not leak. I was pleased to see that it didn't. I guess I picked the right company to fix the leaky roof as my wife's office is now completely dry and she is very happy . A happy wife makes for a happy life. Make your partner in life happy if your roof is leaking I would definitely recommend Roofing with Maize Restoration and Remodeling. Mo

Maize Restoration is a fun name for a business that does the type of work that needs to be restored as soon as they leave the building. I recently wrapped up an 18-month ordeal with this company, and the day it was over was one of the happiest days of my life. This was supposed to be a 6-month project. At one point during our mess of a transaction, I promised to not leave a negative review and I promised to keep the lawyers out of the transaction, all they had to do was fix the mistakes and finish by a certain deadline. That was the 5th-second chance I gave them, and they did not take it. Chase (Andrew?) Piedra first came out on-site in October of 2018 to look at the job. I provided the floor plan, the materials list, a chronological project plan, and insulation details from a Building Science Corp. publication. He subbed the demo and rough construction to a crew that received NONE of those documents, and they immediately began to butcher the install. I rang the alarm, and they did not fix the problem. I kept ringing the alarm, and they kept building on top of their mistakes. They just did not care and kept doing not careful work. I witnessed his crew install a replacement window direct to studs with ZERO flashings, erect walls in the wrong place, cut indiscriminately into structural members of the house. He sent a carpet installer out who just could not figure out how to install carpet on the stairs. The crew physically ripped the thousand dollars central vac off the wall because they do not own any screwdrivers, and it took him 6 or more months to decide he needed to hire somebody to fix it. The finish carpentry work was atrocious, none of the corners lined up, the windows were installed crooked, they lost the trim kits for the dryer box, they butchered the spacing of bathroom vanity lighting. They went through at least 3 different sets of both plumbers and electricians, who each could not figure out the work of the last person. They damaged the oil supply line to the furnace, causing a no heat situation in a house with 2 small children in the middle of the winter. They did not control dust, which clogged up the furnace, triggered the fire alarm early one morning, and again we had a no heat situation. They constantly promised to fix mistakes, and promptly forgot those conversations. I never witnessed them take notes or attempt to do anything other than just sound sincere. That was their specialty, sounding sincere. At one point in the project, they claimed that the entire crew had quit and that they were going to sue that subcontractor. Days later their electrician called me asking what is going on, and he insisted he did not quit and was not even paid. What followed that was 4 months of Chase, Scott, and Brian avoiding my calls and not showing up to get anything done. Eventually, Chase found another sub who did good drywall work and fixed some of the mistakes from the crew before him, but unfortunately, their finish quality was still below the handyman level. They installed a stair handrail in an unsafe way. They did not understand how hinges work, so instead of using the provided cabinet door to cover an electrical panel, they cut a hollow-core door in half and mounted it halfway up the wall. They were misleading to the building department during the process, claiming that their sub-par work was pre-existing, to both avoid paying the permit fee and to avoid scrutiny on their terrible workmanship. There is more, but I will spare you and myself the pain of reliving my experience with Maize.

    Response from Company:

Here at we are deeply sorry for the issues you encountered throughout your project. It?s clear that we fell far short of your expectations, and more importantly, we failed to deliver the quality and professionalism that you deserved. For that, I take full responsibility. From the initial miscommunication about the project plans, to the substandard workmanship, delays, and lack of follow-up, these are all unacceptable failings on our part. We understand that we let you down at every stage of this project, and I want to personally apologize for the frustration and stress this caused you and your family. We should have been more attentive to the details, addressed your concerns immediately, and ensured that each member of the team was properly equipped to handle the job. The fact that we didn?t take these steps, and that it led to such a negative outcome, was a serious failure on our part. While I know this apology doesn?t undo the problems you faced, I want you to know that we have revised our processes internally to ensure this does not happen again. We sincerely regret the way things turned out and we have learned from these mistakes and have improved Maize significantly. Since this project we have thrived and developed Maize into something more efficient and trustworthy. Thank you.

We had lally columns replaced in our garage. Chase and everyone at Maize Restoration were amazing to work with. Excellent communication, worked around our schedules, and made sure we were completely satisfied before closing the project. They also left the place spotless every day when they left. Could not be happier and they will be our first call for any additional work needed moving forward.

    Response from Company:

Thank you Emma for the review! Great working with you. Have a fantastic new year!!!!! Respectfully, Chase

It was great working with chase and all the other guys. The job Maize did for us was a custom home build. Our old house was 1500 sq. ft. and our new one is 5500 sq. ft. the most critical part of this process, the CPE (Comprehensive Project Evaluation) was executed to perfection. I truly believe that is why our home came out exactly how me and my family wanted it too. I definitely recommend Maize Restoration & Remodeling for new construction and custom home builds. I could not be happier. Thank you for the great work!

    Response from Company:

Thank you, Howard, for the review!
