Platinum Plumbing was referred through Angies list. Since my regular plumber was not available at this time. Upon arrival of the technician at my home, I informed technician Greg that I only wanted the tank replaced on my water well. The pump was operating properly, only leaking from a hairline crack in the old fiberglass tank. The pressure switch and gauge had been replaced in the spring of the year. I had done some prior research and the tanks retail cost was between $350-$450. Tech Greg returned after about 20 minutes with the estimate. He informed me he had 3 options for me. I had already told Greg I only wanted the tank replaced, nothing else. Since I had already paid $85.00 up front for the service call, I decided to allow him to continue without interruption. The first option was for $9900.00 !!! This is no typo $9900.00.. At that point I gathered my composure and kindly told Greg he could leave now. I had no further need of his service. I?m was an appliance service technician for 35 years before retiring. I live in a double wide mobile home. Good luck trying to continue making a living with that approach and that type of pricing. I purchased a new tank at a local chain store. The final cost was under $400.00 and is operating properly.
