How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because Since I started working, I always liked the outdoor work. I had the opportunity to work for a big known company (DLC resources Landscape) for 4 years. I learned a little bit of everything. Then i decided to go on my own in 2011 and I being doing this since then. Meeting my clients expectations, is what I look for. I always put my customers first when it comes to make a new design or any kind of project. I love what I do and that is why my clients are always happy..

Trim Trees

Hired to trim a tree and remove two tree stumps. A subcontractor showed up to do the work. The subcontractor told me he was misled about the size of the tree stumps and could not do the work for the price he was given. I called Rene who offered to have the sub come back and work out a separate price with him. This sub was not on HomeAdvisor and I felt I was being subjected to a bait and switch scheme. Very disappointed.

I had a great experience! They were quick to respond, lowered their price to outbid the competition, scheduled the work within a week of giving me a quote, and finished the job in a day. The end result is a beautiful backyard that will last years.

L & R placed pavers around my pool and did an exceptional job. They met every expectation that I had including difficult cut-ins. This crew was timely and didnt stop until the job was completed to my satisfaction! I would hire them again for future projects.

I was very impressed with this company. The crew showed up on time, did all that I requested, cleaned up the tree trimmings, and all at a fair price. When the job was completed the owner, Rene, checked to be sure that I was happy with the work. My tree looks great, and my yard is cleaner than before they began. I will use them again.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
