John Salas and his son Jay did us a solid! He built us an amazing addition, a large bedroom and walk-in closet that is so well done and so beautiful. Our home is old with wide aluminum siding and we worried that he would not be able to match with vinyl, but he worked his magic and found a match! We just can't believe their attention to detail, their exceptional work ethic, fair pricing and honesty! They tackled every step of the construction, from electrical to heating to masonry to taping, painting windows and flooring. We feel truly fortunate to have found them!!! We can't say enough! If you want good solid and meticulous work done, call John Salas Construction, we are so very grateful we did!

I hired Sala construction to add a 300 square foot addition to the back of my house. John and his family were all great, the quality of their work exceeded my expectations. John was always easy to reach, communication was phenomenal, and he answered every question without hesitation. I also appreciated the way they worked by moving equipment/debris/themselves through a window on the back of the house, rather than dragging dust, and debris through our living area. We were able to live through a pretty large addition without it impacting much of our daily lives. I'll be calling John again for my next project.

This father son team. I found through a friend who used them in the past. Top notch quality work. They took the time and explained every detail. The craftsmanship is hands down the best I have seen. They were polite and responsible every step of the way. I have had friends who are in the construction business compliment me on how nice of a job they did. The price was honest. No mark up no hidden fees. I have found my handyman for every future projects. I am writing this review out of respect for a quality job. Selfishly I want them to be my crew. Can you put a retainer on a construction crew? Lol. Strongly recommend them for your projects. I am having them put in a new sliding door next. Will review after finished.

I hired Sala Construction to enclose an existing porch which had one wall that was only screens and screen door so after removing those only an open space remained, and they were starting from scratch. The job involved constructing framing, installing 3 large sliding windows and a small fixed one and a door, and building a solid wall on the bottom half. Their price was reasonable and the project completed exactly as I had envisioned it. I think the standout feature of this company is in customer service and a willingness to go well above and beyond the level of service you would normally expect from other companies. If it involved picking up components that I had ordered myself or making an extra trip to do things in stages to accommodate other parts of the project, they were more than willing. There was never a concern that they would come when scheduled and that everything would be completed. While there were delays waiting for certain products to come and get some things replaced, they just worked around it and when things arrived, they were right there to pick up where things had left off. Overall the experience was very positive, and I got the results I had hoped for, giving me a room that can now be used year round that I did not have before.

John J. Sala Construction Corp. was hired to reconstruct and upgrade the home of a 90 year old widow. This project touched major parts of the house, including all interior walls, hardwood floor, siding, deck and roof. Every single part of this project was left incomplete or damaged when John and his son Jay abandoned the project in April 2019. We had several contracts with them, for example for a new air conditioning system, replacing the basement floor, etc. When the work was nearing completion, John came and demanded more money, and we set up a payment schedule for the remainder of our contract and paid him for some additional work, removing the hot water heating system covers in all the rooms, so they could be replaced. Following a partial payment for this action, the company damaged the heating system and abandoned the project. Below are some of the most specific issues. John J. Sala Construction Corp. did not maintain the correct permits. He did not obtain or use any architectural documents, even though he reassured us he was going do do both. The siding was put on incorrectly, at the wrong angle and without room for expansion so that when summer came, it all warped off the house. All the windows were replaced. Several windows were installed without screens. one window frame was damaged during the installation process and all windows were not installed correctly in relation to the siding. The decks on the house were installed against code, including incorrectly attached guard rails, incorrect stairs, and not attached to the house using the correct anchors. Speaking of code, the AC, and electric work they were responsible for were never permitted and a stop work order was issued. John J. Sala Construction Corp. talked us into installing an inferior laminate floor throughout the basement instead of patching the existing, higher quality floor. This floor was installed up to, but not under appliances, and in one room was installed so poorly that it cracked the marble transition to an existing bathroom and left no expansion space, so the floor warped. John Sala was supposed to replace, repair and paint all the walls of the upstairs. This was not done. The walls were patched and painted poorly, and when this was pointed out, he demanded more money to paint them to actually fully cover the wall, instead of actually replacing the wall board as specified. The upstairs hardwood floors were to be replaced, sanded and finished. this was not done. As a part of ''removing'' the heat radiator covers, John J. Sala Construction Corp. went through each room and severely damaged the walls, the heating elements, and the heating system itself, forcing us to turn off the water to the house and heating system, to the point where the heating system water was pouring out through the wall and out of the house. John and Jay assessed the situation and refused to repair this damage. A member of the construction crew broke into the house through the locked garage, destroying the garage door automatic opener and bending the garage door hinges. This appears to have happened repeatedly, even though John J. Sala Construction Corp. had a valid key to the back door of the house until the locks were rekeyed in January 2020. This company is unreliable in actions, stated activity, and ability to complete work in a professional manner. My family does not recommend.

John was great! The deck is very sturdy and looks beautiful. He went out of his way to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. Then he went the extra mile and even made a tiny brick landing at the bottom of the stair with bricks from my old patio! His two sons are polite, hard workers. And the older son really knows what he is doing!!

My wife and I decided to update and remodel our bathroom. We hired John J. Sala Construction Corp. to replace the existing ceiling with a green board sheetrock one. This was no easy job considering my house was built in the late1800's and there isn't one square piece of wood in it. John and his son, Jay, came and installed the ceiling in hardly no time at all and at a fair price. Their job exceeded my expectations. We liked it so much that we even had him sheetrock the walls as well along with new molding. They transformed an old outdated bathroom into something you would see in a magazine. It's absolutely beautiful. John and Jay are true craftsmen. They were very friendly, helpful, and professional. They even cleaned up what ever mess was made during the whole process. The price to do the project was more than fair and reasonable. I even had them hang a new storm door and install a new entry door locking system while they were here. I would recommend John J. Scala Construction Corp. to anyone thinking about home improvement no matter how small or big. I'm sure I will be hiring them again in the future!

They are a family owned and operated company. They were a joy to work with. They cleaned up when done and did a beautiful job.
