John Cushman Jr. Painting

John was enjoyable to work with and did a fantastic job. He did everything we asked, but also questioned us to give us options and make sure we really wanted to do some things. He really went above and beyond with his work. We were selling our house and moving, and he worked around us and made it extremely easy to work with him while we were going through a bit of chaos. I highly recommend him.

Overall, I think John did a good job with the upfront communication about the job and the painting. Where he fell short was with time management and job clean up. He must have not given himself enough time to complete the job and seemed tp rushed through at the end, leaving sloppy paint markings in my bathroom on the corners of tub area and all over my tile floor. I also noticed later he got paint all over the carpet at the baseboard in my bedroom. I did not really care much about that because I am planning to replace it soon, but he did not seem to even try to keep it off the carpet. Finally, there were numerous paint splotches on our wood floor in the kitchen table area. This is after we had already gone through and marked several areas that needed attention. To be honest, I do not think it is he does bad work, I think he may need glasses. I have contacted him NUMEROUS times to come back and clean up these mistakes, in which he says he will come fix, but then does not. Even with the mistakes, I had planned to hire him to do further painting, as long as he would correct his mistakes, because he had a very good price. Unfortunately, I paid him for the job and he has not returned to fix the mistakes he made and seems to be uninterested in doing more work for me. Sadly, I cannot fix these things easily myself, because I am in a wheelchair and have difficulty reaching the floor and corners, so I will have to hire someone to fix it or just live with it. I would not recommend him to anyone due to these problems.

Really enjoyed working with John on our exterior painting job. He took the time to understand what we wanted to do and asked questions about the parts I hadn’t considered. Would work with him again for other painting jobs.

John knew what he was doing and explained everything. He did a good job without much mess at all and that is something during scraping a ceiling! I am hiring him for another project.

John did a fantastic job. He callled me the day I posted my request. He was the only contractor to call. He came by Saturday morning, talked us through the job, all the paint options. John came back Sunday afternoon and worked until dark. He came back Monday afternoon to finsih. John was very friendly and personable. We will contact him in the future for our next painting job.

John was personable and discussed things up front before doing the work. He made recommendations that added to the quality of the project. Quality of work and end result was amazing.

John is easy to deal with, and fun to talk to. Arrives on time and wonderful to work with.
