our 2nd story deck was taken down by tree during the awful 2023 ice storm in Kalamazoo. Mike, the company's owner at JRD, was very down to earth and helpful, explained our options with out trying to oversell anything. He immediately returned calls and addressed any concerns on the spot. The two contractors in charge of completing the work, Curtis Doyle and partner Joe, were nothing short of amazing! It was a very challenging project with canterlevered supports needing replacement, a deck with various heights that needed railings installed in a completely custom made way. Truly impressive! They were not only 100% professional, they were very friendly, respectful of our property, totally reliable and caring, easing our mind over any concern, always taking the time to explain things and checking with us before proceeding until we were happy and reassured. Honestly, it was a pleasure to have these young men work in our home projects. Do not hesitate for a second to hire this company and ask for Curtis and Joe to do your remodeling or repairs.

Great work

The project was only to be about two and half weeks. Well eight weeks later it was done. The gentleman he had working on my project was really not qualified for this project. He was watching videos to see what he had to do. He had to go back and redo several areas that he screwed up!! I got to the point where I told the owner not to bring this gentleman back. At the time, I was working out of town and on the weekends I would write things down that needed to be correct. There was an incident that they needed to correct, I marked off the spots, they repaired four areas and left two areas that needed repaired, and the owner said they repaired everything to me on the phone. When I came home that weekend and saw they did not repair. The other day the owner came by to pick up a check for the balance of bill. To my surprise he never asked me if I was happy with the work they did. He just grab the check and was gone. At the time I just wanted them to just leave and give me my house key back. Part of this is my part because I did not say anything, but I wanted them gone. My ceiling still needs to be re-sanded, because of all the mud lines. They had to realign my door casing, where they put new screws into the casing and the never filled the holes from drilling screws. I paid thousand of dollars for my bathroom remodel. I own my own business and if I left things like they did, I would not be in business. I have been in business for 27 years, so I guess I am doing something RIGHT! I had two people asked me about referral for this company and I TOLD THEM TO FIND A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR. Because I would not want to have them come back on me for this company. To whom this may concern, please get other job quotes and do background checks! Keith

My bathroom had a little rough start due to a family emergency out of town but once it got started things went very well. The guys that did the demo work were very nice and got it done and cleaned up the same day. Just before we order the shower doors I changed my mind on the color of the frame to the shower doors and Mike had no problem with that and then change the color of all my fixtures. My main worker was on time every day and did a very nice job! I am so pleased with their work I hope to use them again in the spring for another project. One of the best things [beside my beautiful bathroom] is that they quoted me a price and only changed it a little bit when I changed the faucet and told me up front so there were no surprises at the end.
